Our own doing???
what happened in NY is a tragedy, 3 or 5 thousand human beings died.
since last iraq war 500 000 human beings (estimated by UN) died in iraq because of hunger, illnesses, toxic substances etc. caused as follows of this war. Most of them are children.
no tragedy? oil for food? must be lousy food for the oil.
You wonder if every iraqi and same for palestinians hates the USA?
INFORMATION HIGHWAY.
Hi,
And your first name isn't Saddam by any chance?
Goes a long way to show just how "informed' you really are.
Cheers,😉

So who doles out the money to fund the palaces and weapons factories, and oh yeah food for the people after everything else is bought. Saddam is responsible for the death in Iraq.
And I doubt that you speak for all Iraqis and Palistinians, Till.
Heres the link:

Therein is the "proof" of Iraq's material breech of UN Resolution 1441.
Nothing to argue.

There's nothing there that constitutes any sort of proof.

he said a lot, but nothing that would be a good reason for bombing the people in iraq. And the link to 911 is "claimed" whatever this means, not proofen.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Hi,
Is he?
Haven't seen too much proof of that either.
Granted the man is no angel but what is starving the Iracqi is the embargo, not Saddam Houssein.
If the world really wanted to get rid of him why not send in an anonymous sniper and end the dreaded dictatorship?
And only when real proof of guilt is presented, please.
And when that is is done who is going to be next on the list of interest?
I'm oh so naive,🙄

I don't agree that it was "uncivilized mud slinging at anyone and everyone." As a matter of fact, it was one of the more interesting threads here lately.
Lets get on with the topic of diyAudio.
It didn't have an audio related header, and no one was being forced to read it. Getting off topic once in a while (and it's not like we have a lot of these sorts of threads here) is stimulating.
How many Aleph heatsink threads do you think we can have before the site implodes under the weight of it's own boredom?
It will be interesting to see what you delete. I have most of it saved.

Seemed to me that it was on the verge of getting out of hand when I left it several hours ago. Where it went from there I don't know. I left shortly after the now Texas-residing post by vdi-nenna was put up. Things were not looking good, as far as civility was concerned.
I think we should wait and see how the moderators do before we complain.
It should be pointed out that this forum was conceived as a place where people from all over the world come to talk about audio equipment, swap pictures of their favorite projects and speculate about new and exciting approaches to creating sound and video. Anything that gets in the way of that is likely to be dropped. If the people who run this forum decide that resentments are building up because of political issues, they might decide to turn this forum into the Everything Else Except Politics Forum. Or they might make it the Everything Else Electronic Forum. I doubt they want people to get disgusted with other members because of their stand on a political issue.
I sincerely hope the Moderators do not decide to ban political topics because of one thread. If the political topics keep breaking down into rancorous exchanges along national lines, then I guess they will ban them. But certainly, one thread gone astray should not be the cause of such a ban.

peace
Pity.
We finally had a discussion on things infinitely more important than audio, with people learning other people's viewpoints, which is REQUIRED before we can go even a little bit towards peace. And we kill it.
This is censorship in the extreme.

Thanks for the support kw and you need not fear, we will not ban political discussions any time soon.
You can expect to see the thread back in place in about 24 hours.
peace...what peace?
....little chance of peace in our times i dare say, what with bush in the white house.....folks i would recomend a thorough reading of Noam Chomsky to appreciate the fact that over the last 60 years, the USA has been responsible for more international terrorism than any number of bin ladens.....

Re: peace...what peace?
Agreed. But 60 years is nowhere near long enough.
