Drop me a PM with your email adress and i will fwd the docs.

I didn't read every post during the development of this DAC, but I'm not completely understanding the need/reasoning for keeping the supporting docs close to the vest. With over 500 builders across the globe, that info will most likely start circulating regardless of the precautions taken. Could someone explain?

Understood, and the question wasn't specifically pointed in your direction. I'm sure there is some valid reasoning here, but it's just not clear to me. As someone who developed a project that eventually went commercial, I understand the need for proprietary rights and non- disclosures. Just asking the question generally because the subject has come up several times. If something like a patent or trademark is in the works - that's cool - and I'm sure we all would support that, particularly after all the effort and time invested by the developers. Just a little confused on where we sit in that area.

Hi Subbu, Jean-Paul,

Received my PCBs and DAC chips last week, but I still have not received schematics or BOM for this design. I'm guessing that it's due to some snafu w/a wrong email address for me when I signed up for the GB. Any rate, would you please let me know how I can receive the docs for this DAC?

Thank you both for the design, and taking on this very large GB.

Dan

Hi the schematic is not very special IMO but we took the liberty to add separate supplies etc. and we took the time (cough) to make it an old fashioned good performing design by taking care of details. No thrills, no features (sorry it has a power on LED), no soft/firmware, no programming, no ADUM isolators, no PIC/AVR, no display, no remote control by Ipad/cell phone and that is quite abnormal in this day and age of "features" and bright shining blue LEDs. It can only do one (1!) thing and no Arduino is needed. I am just teasing, sorry 😉

We just don't want noise from non buying (= non building) members and tens of pages discussing what is "wrong" in the design. We've seen many threads like that and they're just a pain to read. That having said: I've recently learned that NASA will use a Subbu V3 in their space program (they signed the NDA).

Phil, you can ask the seller what you like but EU regulations say that the value has to be mentioned when stuff comes from non EU countries. I had the same and the german customs were very strict but since it was the first time they let me go without any charge. I even had to open the package and they were discussing the value of the parts that were in it ! Of course the value as declared was lower than the real value but these guys finally gave in and let me go. Hobby stuff is not interesting for customs. Also the old fashioned trick to have "gift" or "sample" written on the package is not working 100% anymore as taxes have to be paid too (less than normal but still).

If no value is mentioned the customs will delay the package till taxes are paid. In Germany they send the package back to the sender after 10 days and they charge 50 Eurocent per day for stocking the package. Who said the germans have no humour ? 😉
