"Subbu DAC V3 - ES9023/WM8804 SPDIF & Power Supply PCB" Group Buy

I did not get the BOM, or perhaps can't find it in my email. I did pay, and I saw my name on the list. Can someone please email it to me again, or send a link where it can be downloaded, thanks!

Unfortunately it has not been released yet. I got PM from Subbu on August 12 saying he was still finalizing the PSU BOM and would send it out in a "few days".

I was hoping to have the BOM for the whole thing by now so I could get my part orders going. Hopefully soon(?).

Last correction to schematics and BOM were made yesterday. Subbu is busy but it won't take much time anymore.

BTW just out of curiosity I bought a Metrum Quad DAC and this evening I've been busy with listening and comparing with a newly built V2.6. My V3 prototypes have left my home so I finished some V2.6 boards I still had in stock. The Metrum is well run in. I am having a severe cold and the V2.6 has to run in a few days so no hard verdict yet.

First impression is that we don't have to feel ashamed for the old V2.6 (at all).....also that Metrum did a fine job with this DAC. Very musical product. Totally different system from ES9023 based DACs but different topology should not refrain from comparing IMO. This is one special non os DAC and I certainly could live with it. No premature conclusions but V2.6 has some equal or even better features (soundwise) for sure. Will repeat test in a week or so to discover the strong and weak points of both DACs.

Hi PMI

GB for both EU and US 😉
Subbu has added the Parts GB Form link in Post#1 :
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/grou...-wm8804-spdif-power-supply-pcb-group-buy.html
I'll publish prices when Official BOM became available.
Regards

Phil
I take it there are two different (parallel) approaches here, meaning the parts GB and the parts&assembly GB, I think I have figured that out...

There seems to be a third separate link, for a completed unit, is that about right?

check payment, how to ?

Hello All,

Been busy and finally spent couple days on catching up emails and payments. I have consolidated the members list with who have paid and not paid as of yesterday evening. The list is attached. Members who have signed up and are still interested in the GB get in touch with me via pm if you need invoice. Otherwise you can take the prices from the first page and calculate the prices and send me the payment.

I will keep the list open till this weekend for the members to pay. I will order the boards and DAC chips on Monday 08/05/2013.

If you find any issues with your payment or order quantity please get in touch with me ASAP so that I can fix it.

Cheers!
Subbu

Hi Subbu,

I'd like to check if my payment was well received. However the list posted on 1st of august has been removed (while I was enjoying sun & beaches ...😎)

Could you confirm you received my payment ?

thanks for your time & work,

Laurent

Hi All

PMI, there are two options to PCB ordering.
- First concerns Parts GB pour Subbu DAC V3 & PSU. Prices will be available soon.
- Second is an Assembly Service for Subbu DAC V3.
I'll do the job for DIYers who don't feel comfortable soldering SMD devices.
DAC V3 will be fully assembled and tested before shipping.

Both Forms, Parts GB & Assembly Service, are available in first Post of this Thread.
If you subscribe to Assembly Service, please mention it to Subbu.
He'll send me your DAC V3 PCB.

BOM is part of the Build Guide that will be delivered by Subbu to each PCB subcriber.

Regards

Phil

Hi Phil

Is there anyway to check what I have subscribed?
If my memory serves me well, I can remember that I subscribed PCBs and soldering service. But not really sure about parts subscription.
Forgive my poor memory.

Hi Arthur

You've subcribed for 2 DAC V3 + 2 PSU Parts kits.
Please mention Subbu to send me your 2 DAC PCB 😉

I have enabled the "Allow users to edit responses" option.
So, you'll be able to edit your answers in both forms (Parts GB & Assembly Service).
You have to find the email confirmation received when forms were filled.
Then follow the link and check, place mods if required.

I'll post next week some more informations and details.

Regards

Phil

Hi Paul,

I'm waiting for the last revisited Official BOM from Jean-Paul and Subbu.
I've received partial informations about parts content.

Actually, I think to close Parts GB on September 15th.
I'll ask Subbu to update his first post to mention it.

Regards

Phil

I cannot find a BOM anywhere. No cost of parts for the parts GB. No schematic, at least not that I have seen.

I see a price for a complete soldered board, 55 Euro, plus shipping, not sure if that includes the parts, or if that is an assembly quote.

I assume there is a schematic and a BOM, just not being released. It might be helpful to just say that up front, so a bunch of people can stop looking for it... 🙄

Regards,

Pete
