What is the '+' sign on the cap doing along side the polarity bar that indicates the negative lead (+85C ??). Just want to confirm that this is indeed negative lead despite the '+' sign on it

Yeah. I think the force of the -'s pulled the +'s away from the 85C. Guess they weren't attached too firmly.

Heh, heh. One of my audiophile friends told me that the cap sounds a lot better when the +'s and -'s huddle together like that Infact there is a cap-cooker available, very similar to this cable-cooker that will do it for youI think the force of the -'s pulled the +'s away from the 85C.
