Studio Reference Amplifier

Hi, I'm not good in comparison. Generally I prefer the latfets. But of all IRFP240 amplifiers is currently the FR100 / FR50 my favorite. The sound is clear and strong with a very nice bass. I like it.

+1😉.
Nice work Olaf, I would build this one too.. If you finish your cabinet, could you post your pics here for reference? I like German engineering / precision🙂.

Hi, here an old photo from the A9 amplifier. The components are not wired. All very simple. Unfortunately, I have none of the finished device (given away to a friend). The front has been finished with a granite effect spray. This looks very good and unusual. A pair of small speakers was finished in the same way.

regards Olaf

Hello everybody. Is this the protection of the speakers? It protects against a short circuit at the output? And how turns to wind the inductor?
its speaker terminal having three functions.
1. zobel components
2. inductor and resistor are part of Thiele ckt
3. crowbar protect, (in case of DC, it shorts the speaker positive to gnd, thus the fuse blows and thus protection of speakers. (amplifier is goner)

take a look here for the revised design for FR-100
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/173462-studio-reference-amplifier-222.html#post4837066, same function but without thiele ckt (zobel+inductor//resistor)

Thank you very much!!

FR100

Here is another FR100 Build. I used same setup Chassis wise as my FX100.
I am also using 2 of Cresnet's 600W SMPS +-55V for this build. He is a real pleasure to work with & the cost is very reasonable & the Quality High. I like them.!
Also i prefer the sound of the FR over the FX. To me the tonal's are more natural to my ears. Anyway a big THANKS to Mile for the circut and to Cresnet for the SMPS's.
