Hi, I'm not good in comparison. Generally I prefer the latfets. But of all IRFP240 amplifiers is currently the FR100 / FR50 my favorite. The sound is clear and strong with a very nice bass. I like it.Beautiful construction Olafk.
How does sound compare to much simpler FH9?

+1😉.
Nice work Olaf, I would build this one too.. If you finish your cabinet, could you post your pics here for reference? I like German engineering / precision🙂.
Hi, here an old photo from the A9 amplifier. The components are not wired. All very simple. Unfortunately, I have none of the finished device (given away to a friend). The front has been finished with a granite effect spray. This looks very good and unusual. A pair of small speakers was finished in the same way.

FR-100 and FR-50 is the latest talk in this part of town... check it out. Olaf has working designs... says its the best mosfet (irfp) design yet that he's built.

When I increase the volume on 1 channel the sound distorts and drives the test speaker to the edge . Seems to be a problem with oscillation in my SR200 . The other channel plays clean .
its speaker terminal having three functions.Hello everybody. Is this the protection of the speakers? It protects against a short circuit at the output? And how turns to wind the inductor?
1. zobel components
2. inductor and resistor are part of Thiele ckt
3. crowbar protect, (in case of DC, it shorts the speaker positive to gnd, thus the fuse blows and thus protection of speakers. (amplifier is goner)
take a look here for the revised design for FR-100
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/173462-studio-reference-amplifier-222.html#post4837066, same function but without thiele ckt (zobel+inductor//resistor)

respectfully
There is cap multipliers add for VAS supply on SR150.1, use this schematic if you want better, but there is no audable difference.

1pr of 2sa1943/c5200 has a total Pmax of 300W.
Expect a reliable maximum output power of 50W into 8ohms, or 60W into 4ohms.

FR100
Here is another FR100 Build. I used same setup Chassis wise as my FX100.
I am also using 2 of Cresnet's 600W SMPS +-55V for this build. He is a real pleasure to work with & the cost is very reasonable & the Quality High. I like them.!
Also i prefer the sound of the FR over the FX. To me the tonal's are more natural to my ears. Anyway a big THANKS to Mile for the circut and to Cresnet for the SMPS's.

Nice work, what is speaker terminal circuit?

Nice work!
Where you get the enclosure and what is the cost?
Where you get these power supplies and what is the cost?
Is the speaker protection boards commercial parts from first one amplifier?

Hi all.
Speaker terminal circuit is from Lazy Cat. It's his DC Protect for FO Modules. The Chassis is DISSIPANTE 2U from Diyaudio Store. The Power supplies are from here. Page Title. Contact him for price.
