This looks pretty good...... and I think that the resolution is better than the hipgear. 2.5 inch LCD

I had a 4 inch version of this and it wasnt suitable for stripping came apart easy but the circuitry couldnt be separated from the back of lcd cause of rigid wiring that was attached on three sides. The 2.5 might be different?
I just got myself a kodak 5200. but here's the problem: how can I open the top of the projector or insert the lcd and control panel? All I could open the bottom part and have no access to the interior. Any help?
anybody know where i can buy the controllers now? it seems thier not in stores anymore and that even ebay doesnt have them
Just found this sight, great information. Just a thought, would an old reel type projector work like this as well, neat for appearance.
Also, are the controllers still available, or is there another inexpensive alternative for the small lcd?
Thanks for any help.

I thought of a source for a screen, should be cheap, but not sure if it will work even marginally, sony watchman, cheap on e-bay, but how hard would it be to connect the inputs for dvd, etc?
you can still find the screens on ebay. Yes you would be able to make one with that projector but remember, this gives you a bad picture, but still a good one to begin with. I made one with the same lcd and got poor results. Still good though for a $45 projector!
Would it be possible to salvage an lcd from a commercial projector to use with this setup? i've seen video projectors on ebay that have problems with the lamp go for very cheap. the resolution of a commercial projector lcd is much greater than that of this controller screen. i'v searched the forums for anything about using commercial projector lcd but havnt found anything. hey, im a noob, go easy on me.😉
I was thinking of something like this
I was thinking of something like this
usually, projector lcds are monochrome, the colour comes from three channels...rgb...filtered light, so i don't think that'll work as i don't think that pj has full a single colour lcd...may be wrong though
hey guys, i can't seem to find over here in israel the ps2 controllers you mentioned nor the cables for it...is there any other way to get a small lcd working like that?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Just look for a used portable LCD TV. You know, the handheld battery powered kind. The ones I have taken apart have been easy to work with and have RCA composite input through a mini plug
like this one if the mini tv has mono sound

(One of the RCA plugs will have the video signal on it)or like this one if it has stereo sound.

You can probably find one cheap on Ebay.
