Man, that's great !!!

If I was you I'd at least enjoy it for a while.... you know, play some Halo2 on it and stuff.... and also the convenience of having a big screen available 24/7 and not just when the sun goes down...

how's the lcd projector going?

I will definately enjoy it for a while, but I will test it at 84 inches soon! BTW, sorry I hate Halo 1 and 2, lol. I did play some Max Payne2 on it, I would have played others, but my pc is f-ed. (lol, thats right I DONT have an XBOX, PC is the only way to go for me)

Also, sorry but the LCD projector is on hold for a little while, and so is my diy single CRT projector... Im not quittin though!

I would love to find a suitable remote control (i have a universal...). Im looking for a recent Sony TV remote (as far as I know, they work for most sony tvs) that has Picture in Picture buttons.

Man this TV can make a great projector!

Ok, I tested it at about 120-130 inches (i didnt want to move it closer after I took off the screen, because it was still attached by many wires (the button panel is attached to the screen border)...
I couldnt converge it! I could ALMOST focus it, it would focus just fine at 84" im sure. But the convergence... the red and blue were off center by like 5 inches... I maxed out the convergence moving towards center, and still not enough. I think that if I can get access to the service menu, I can probably converge it from there.

Sorry I got no pics cuz I dont have a digital camera (i have a crappy one that can take like 320x240 or sometin, ill see if I can find it).

At about 120 inches it was definately bright enough to watch, even though the brightness was at almost minimum, and contrast at like 70%

ive been following this thread for awhile and had been thinking of building one. i even bought the lcd at futureshop for $20 before i ever even saw this thread, i had just bought it "in case i had a project to try" 😎

anyways i stripped the lcd and borrowed a slide projector just to see how it works to start. note that i was borrowing this one off someone so i couldnt disassemble it to properly fit the lcd, so i could only project a small section of the screen. at least i could see it was working.

ill be sure to post with my progress and results (pics too) when i actually get a slide projector of my own. on that note if anyone in toronto has one, or knows a good source for one, toss me an email msivec at mochamail dot com
