and just to remind my Funny Pa - that important difference in naming system is between SJEP and SJDP, not last numbers of type (noting Rdson)

(which is, I presumed, mocking all and everyone, and being part of every 3.14ssing contest? in that, I'm supersuccessful , so Pa is superfree)

Interview seemed as a curious Contrast.
NP is both interesting and entertaining.
Whereas Guttenberg comes across as some goofy sycophant.

Personally I'm glad that Mr. G. is willing to do the work of interviewing and editing and that Mr. Pass is willing to share so much on a personal and professional level. Just my 2 cents.

It's too early to mention any specifics, and it's still in flux. It will likely be offered as a kit of some sort. But, I can say that it originated in the desire to offer a beginner-accessible piece incorporating a triode and delivering a serious taste of the SET experience without all the high voltages and expensive iron. The current prototype can deliver up to 10 watts depending on where you set the bias and has some adjustment for gain and damping factor. It's the sort of project I would have loved to build when I was twenty, dreaming about all those gorgeous amps in Sound Practices. 🙂
Is it a more powerful version of the SSII amp?
The amp has a low voltage (48V) triode-coupled tube as input and a power mosfet as output (single ended).

Q- Why not use two LED's? -- A - Because some audiophile with a photometer will measure their lux and complain if they're not equal.
It's always a pleasure to listen to Papa: like when my grandpa told me stories about the age of WWII or his adventures working in the countryside...

soo funny !😛Q- Why not use two LED's? -- A - Because some audiophile with a photometer will measure their lux and complain if they're not equal.
nice interview, papa is really smart

Michael,
As usual, you conceive neat projects! I drive my F4 with either a tube amp or tube line stage.
Bravo! 😀
