I forgot to inform - I did bring them home
Everything is easy, when having Variac to produce Wall of Sound (in fact, he is Wall of Sound, that's one of the reasons why he's so special to us)

shhhh, don't tell Pa, he probably thinks that Beasts are still in his work Music Room

I just wonder if I could listen to a "perfect" amp (low distortion/noise at all frequencies at all output level in all loads). Would I judge such an amp as a bad sounding amp?
I would say it's all depends on "how loud" you play music, and "what kind of music" you play, with my experience with class-A SE amps and Hypex nCore here. (Hypex nCore is one of most linear amp money can buy today.)
Many recordings are absolutely abysmal.
Bring back simple tone controls - you can always switch them out when not needed.

I may have owned a so called near "perfect" amp. It was a NAD M3 which I used for many years. It was my view that an amp should just be "perfect" and that the speakers was the most important. It was first after I purchased KT150 SE tube mono blocks I found out that maybe the amp also has something "to say". At that time I had also got sensitive speakers. I was mostly in Tube-section in this forum but from time to time I looked at Pass Labs and wondered what that was all about.....
I listened to the "Beast" for several hours. Loved them. I tried to bring them home.
Not boring, smooth yet lively, like a really good Pinot. 🙂
Rub it in Michael. Ya lucky bar steward.. 😉

It's time to build one? 😉I was mostly in Tube-section in this forum but from time to time I looked at Pass Labs and wondered what that was all about.....
I have already built ACA, MoFo, M2X, BA3-pre, Korg, Whammy and Wayne 2018 linestage are mounted and waiting for final assembly 🙂
Using Whammy in the moment in front of a 300B tube amp while M2X is under a minor reconstruct......tubes are still good.....
I have also built a couple of Staving Student II......nice amp also....

Then it's time to measure your amps to start investigating correlation between your preference and thd? 🙂
I have measurement on M2X and will measure again after upgrade with more silent transformer and IEC with filter. M2X was very slightly 2nd harmonic dominant. We will see......think I like a little bit of 2nd harmonic...... 🙂
For those who get two kits of ACA to use them bridged.......I would advise to go with M2X instead.....unless they really need the XLR balanced feature.....
