well after seeing proto's results i decided to split one of the fresnels i didnt sell its from a 3m 9800 ohp
now before i split them i couldnt fit the 15" lcd no matter how much i shrunk the active area
after i split them BAM i get almost the whole lcd
well anyways heres a pic of how i set up the fresnels and the lcd
this is not finished yet but i was too excited to keep it to myself

Man that's a big *** fresnel! Or at least it looks like it...Is that a 15" LCD? Are you getting slight rings from the fresnel on your projected image (if you look real close?) Where are you focusing the objective? At the top fresnel or in between the LCD and top fresnel (can you focus on both? The top fresnel and the LCD? If you focus on the LCD does it make the Projected Image larger than Focusing on the top Fresnel?
Edit: Oh wait, i guess I see the LCD peaking out from the edge there...So the Fresnel is basically a perfect match to the LCD eh?

Give us result soon!
If it's work, I'll go this way. I have a damn hot spot in the middle of my screen, hope split fresnel can help!
And don't forget to tell about the cooling

Hopefully I'll be getting one of those soon, eh verbose? (I'm tealknuckles, heh.)
Can't you just change the screen size on the lcd to make it fit? Or am I missing something?

No you can't. But with split fresnel, you can get like 95% of the horizontal. Vertical well you got all of it ( well for me! )
Well, 95% is not that bad LOL!
On my setup It's missing like 2 letters to "internet explorer"
Or the start I see "Tart". For the quality of the LCD, I can pass over it!
My tv crops more picture than that!

wow i almost fell off my chair i was so dizzy reading this post
let me see if i could correctly decypher your code here
yes that is a 15" nec 1545v monitor
i do not see any rings what so ever
i have focused on the lcd not the top fresnel
you must focus on the lcd if you want a clear image the size is
a dead isue
the fresnel is just a tad to small i had to adjust the horizontal size 1/4 "
and i might add the image is lit very evenly

We can?! Must read the manual!
just to point out that is the 3rd 1545v i have ripped and assembled on a projector that monitor is very tough and easy to work with if anyone wants to build a projector for the first time this is your baby theres no reason to be scared
oh ya gui_999 split your fresnel you will be amazed at the difference bye bye hot spots
use a router table with a piece of foam under the lens so you dont scratch it on the table

gui_999 said:Oh and a question.. do you have heat issue with your 1545, cause mine heats alot?
you have to keep a fan on it i use a air filter that has a wicked fan
and it runs all the time anyways so niose isnt an isue for me i just turn up the 4 15's and 2 12's and i have a problem seeing not hearing
For now I have 2 smalls pc fans, with a table fan, so 3 fans total
And it's great for the hot spots, mine is in the ********* middle! Looks like a ink spot, dark in this erea looks like a flame, really washed out with some green and blue! ( it's not my LCD cause if I move it the LCD, the spot stay at the same place on the screen.
So one of my 2 problems will be solved. Heating is the remaining one 🙁

Co'mon, show some respect boys. Cruser's the first person on this board who (successfully) got a 1545v working and posted pics.
Oh sorry
Something comes to my mind.. If I put one fresnel on my lcd, how will I blow air to the lcd?
