Here is what I get on the Gate pads for the power supply fets .

Does this appear to be ok or do I have driver issues ?

Wondering this since the power supply fets get red hot and the amp draws excessive current

Scope settings are 2us 5volts/div

Did you try loading the FET locations with a small capacitor (I use a 0.047 but anything close will work)?

Power supply checks fine .

Something in the output section is causing excessive current draw .

All outputs year good tho

I removed all of the outputs and the amp still draws excessive current .

If I remove the rectifiers the amp is fine but as soon as I put the rectifiers in the amp it draws excessive current .

The amp appears to have been worked on before .

Right now all the rectifiers are FED16CT is this correct ?

And if so what would make it draw excessive current with all of the outputs removed ?

Check the rectifiers. I have had several Soundstream amps from this era that had shorted rectifiers.

The drive is marginal. Is the scope setting actually 2us? If so, the frequency may be a bit high.

Yes. FED rectifiers are what's supposed to be in it.

I agree. One of the doubler rectifiers may be shorted.

You were both right the rectifiers test ok but are shorted .

I found some in a junk board and swapped them out and amp works fine .
