If you have pairs with similar Vgs, you could consider building the original VFET pt2 amp with parallel output devices. Tea-Bag might still have pcbs for that amp http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/blogs/tea-bag/352-sony-vfet-version-2-al-boards-build-blog.html

Edit: Btw, if anyone has two extra pairs of 2SK60/2SJ18 VFETs I'd be interested since I'm planning to build a scaled down headphone amp version.

Could I get away with using a pair of 130VA transformers for this amp if I used one per channel? tia.

It is pretty exactly 56W per channel with +/-28VDC 🙂

Variac sent me exactly this one , as very appreciated gift , with one obligation - to make sort of building tutorial or Cook Book , whatever

however - Jim (6L6) asked could I give Iron Pre(s) for Store and that took some substantial time and effort to finish as proper package , even if I previously didn't had any intention doing that , considering Iron Pumpkin(s) as my main goal

I have pretty much everything for amps (including C-core 2x22Vac xformers), but still on pile ...... while occupied with every-day's life and efforts to finish Iron Pumpkins
