Okay, my VFET kit is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
Have I missed it or has the BOM been published? I'd like to start accumulating the necessary parts. Also - what's the optimal PSU board to get for this project? There seems to be a lot of leeway or options when those are discussed, so I'd like the most "plug and play" PSU recommendation, or options for enhanced performance (dual mono, etc).
It's been a while since I've built an amplifier, but I'm looking forward to it!

The VFETs are matched mostly because it also is a way for Nelson to check that they are good.
The other reason I measure the Vgs is to provide an initial bias voltage figure
for the setup of the channel before the VFET is installed. Done
according to instructions, this will bring up the amp first time with the VFETs in
conduction but biased low.

Looks like I have to finish corrections to the test procedure.
I was waiting for 6L6's feedback, but will have to proceed. Check for a
revised copy in the next couple days.

Great i stay in tune to check revised test procedure.
Thanks Mr Pass

Good news. I have been waiting to build this amplifier for almost a year and I am itching to get started. I received my transistors from B+D Enterprises, 2SK2013/J313, this morning and I ordered a 22V transformer from Antek also this morning. Someone asked about a BOM, as far as I know there is not one. One will have to do it the way I have done many tube builds. Order from the schematic and mark with a highlight marker every part once ordered so as not to miss anything.
It should not be too difficult.
The parts are all numbered in sequence with no missing #'s.

With some effort I can still manage to miss the few last ones [emoji3]
Well... I'm more and more impressed by how much work you all put into this kit

Hi wdecho,
Would you be able to measure the dimensions of outlined area for the TO220 mosfet heatsinks?
Thanks,
Dennis
My kits arrived 🙂. Already have everything else on hand but resistors and pots. Sadly, my F4 boards will become homeless in making room for these. Looking forward to the build guide.
Thank you Mr. Pass!

From my measurements it is 25mm X 35mm marked out on the board for Q5 and Q6.
Many thanks for everything is due you for making this available with your time and effort for no profit. All your diy projects have made at least one old man happy in his golden years.
A few questions regarding active devices:
is there any Idss we should aim when choosing the input jfets?
Do the input stage mosfets (2sk2013/2sj213) need matching?
What about the cascade output mosfets?

8 Idss on the input jfets from what I have read and from a post recently made nothing actually needs matching.
There are no shipping methods available for your cart or destination.
I've now implemented dual redundant dedicated IP addresses for the store "brains" and it seems to be working fine now. The store is now back up (until further notice!).
Is this the suitable item for the input JFET ? (B grade)
