Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor - HELP

I double checked that SF part number with the old replacement parts list I had and found out the part number I gave you was close. The shielding does change the motor specs a tiny bit. Its enough to hear a difference in the lower mids.

Be aware that sometimes service centers don't like to just supply the part without any labor. I don't know exactly how the laws are in Italy but that's how it is in the US. When I was a tech in Germany, we had to sell a part to a customer if he requested it. This was however in the late 80s to early 90s.

In this case the differences are likely very, very marginal. I doubt anyone will hear any difference. See the attached DS for 8Ω versions…

So, the situation is evolving very fast!
I get a reply from Triodo customer service SF. The original speaker will be available in 45 days at 767 EURO plus shipping!!! 😱
I found also a Scan Speak distributor in Thailand and I am waiting his reply for availability. Price 226 EURO plus shipping.
In the meantime I write to a friend here in Vietnam asking for help with custom clearance that it's a real nightmare.
He is a doctor that I meet in one Hi-end exhibition in Saigon.
Look like one of his patient is the owner of the best speaker repair shop in Vietnam!
Today I will send him the woofer... let see if I am so lucky to get it repaired!

I will keep you posted
Cheers,
Enrico

So it's not "broken", mechanically everything is complete.

I bet the problem is the glue they used. That glue usually corrodes the thin wire of the coil itself. The solution is to unwind a bit of the wire from the voice coil or add a piece wire and connect again to those flexible braids. Any quality repairman can probably fix that. If it comes to that. This is a known problem with Scanspeak, especially in more humid climates.
