That's pretty much it- the written lyrics lack the flowers bit, but it's there on the recording you link to. My recording is from '78 or '79.
She's very lucky you took her in!Our new lockdown pup.
Does she really have brown polka-dots on her neck?

The purpose of this thread is to help people feel better during the hard and stressful times we're going through. And the idea was to share something that "lightens the mood", making is forget our troubles for a while.
That certainly works, but my wife reminded me of an entirely different technique I'd read about many years ago, but completely forgotten since then.
As we know, human brains are wired to make us smile when we're happy. But it turns out that the wiring works backwards, too - force your face into a smile, and your brain responds by becoming happier!
It only takes two minutes of forcing and holding a smile to shift your mood significantly more positive. This is not the latest superstitious Twitter-nonsense of the day, but is well researched, and backed up with plenty of hard evidence collected in medical labs.
Want to lighten your mood? Smile broadly, and hold it for two minutes; check with a mirror if you need to, to make sure you really do have a big smile.
Here's one article that talks about this effect: Smiling can trick your brain into happiness — and boost your health

I sought to lighten my mood the other night by watching Walt Disney's 'Davy Crockett'.Want to lighten your mood? Smile broadly, and hold it for two minutes...
I just had to smile when he attempted to "grin down a bear"! YouTube
My aunt made me a Davy Crockett hat when I was at primary school - similar to the one the wee lad's wearing in the attached photo.

There are no shortage of racoons around here and I remember the look on my Mothers face when I hacked the tail off a road kill and proudly brought it home so she could make me a hat. I must have been quite the sight. All covered in blood made her think I was injured but when she found out I wasn't, the look in her eye told me I was about to be.
That's my one and only racoon hat story but there are others including the staunch Mother Racoons.
Note to self and others: Don't play hockey with the kits.
