But better than being LOST in Aberdeenshire!

This is a true story! My family are from Aberdeen but left for Australia when I was 3 years of age. Our first trip back was when I was 14. As a family we drove into the highlands and were having a look round, but got a bit lost. We spotted a really old fellow on the side of the road hunkered against the weather (it was December), so Dad stopped the car and said to me to go and ask the old guy the quickest way back to Aberdeen. With my full Aussie accent he didn't have a clue what I said - a bit hard of hearing too - so looked at his watch and said 'half past two'...

I didn't push it any further and returned to the car.

You know what lightened my mood today?
It warmed to -11º at near 3pm and I watched this through the sliding glass door, trying not to intrude.
That is something special today. We usually see only females. This is the first time I have seen a male Anna's Hummingbird at our feeder.
He decided to pose for the shot.
I'm no longer 16 but I think this was really cool.
