FWIW Buenos Aires, Johannesburg and Sydney are about same latitude, within a couple degrees.

That said, temperatures also roughly match, for obvious geographical reasons 🙂 , and that is also a part of my comment.
Centigrade preferred, we left behind measurement scales based on the width of the King´s thumb or the Danzig winter temperature long ago. 🙂

Sometimes latitude is not so much a part of the equation. Currently:
Vancouver is 10ºC @ 49º N
Montreal is -14ºC @ 45º N
Admit it guys. At least once in your life you wished you were using one of these.
