Some speaker driver measurements...

Have look at what's available commercially, and the "engineering" design choices they've made...

You'll sleep like a baby with wonderful inspirational dreams
I have heard 3 Backes & Müller BM systems and they are designed for a purpose and not gimmicky at all, pioneers of active loudspeakers -these big BM 100 are obviously meant for driving very large spaces - my pick out of this lot.
Unbelievably left off this is the big Piega Line source https://piega.ch/en/products/master-line-source and can fit in reasonable rooms and just sounds incredible - My pick if money was no object

Give me a bass bin of dimensions H 175 x W 34 x D 62 cm like the Piega and I wouldn't bother with 8 inch drivers.

I'd put six 6 TWELVE inch woofers in there, and blow the roof and walls out! You to, can do outrageous things like with DIY too...

The stuff of wet dreams...

Nice you tested those! (y)
They kind of perform as expected almost.
Thought the lower end down to 100Hz would be a tiny bit better.
Would be interesting to see how they compare to the Beyma 3fr30 as well?

LaVoce has actually quite some more interesting drivers for a fair price.
I am curious about the NBASS08-20 for example
(sold as a bass guitar woofer, but VERY workable as a midwoofer, the inductance is very low and straight, nice demodulation going on)

Or old house, fixer upper...
Haven't done that, but am going to build a home on poles on a steep block in a remote location soon...

The boat thing came from a friend who's fave boat joke is;
Q: What is the definition of yacht ownership?
A: Standing on the end of the wharf and throwing cash into the water.
Given how popular the FaitalPro 3FE22 and 3FE25 are, would be nice to see those.
I'd like to see that too. Post Easter when I have some more cash than today, I'll even pay for the drivers.

Nice to see a Lavoce driver tested. The 6.5" MAN061.80 is another nice driver from lavoce with high sensitivity and near satori levels of midrange distortion.

The 3" lavoce FAN030.71 is very good at low to moderate SPL, but it's short voice coil causes distortion to rise at higher volumes. Not unusual for 3" drivers it seems, with the 10F being the exception.
