You can also see why it shouldn't be used in a two way. That metal cone breakup is far too low for a two way.
It's nothing special - If you take into account sensitivity, larger woofers like deltalite are far better. It'd be ok for small 3w TMWW.
By nostalgia i like the Scan speak 18w8545 family of drivers, but the imd might be the answer why it sometimes sounds so harsh, like on Electric guitars
Probably, or at least I hope so. I'm looking at using the aluminum version of that as an addition to a 2-way I liked so much that I thought I'd change it to a 3-way! One of them models as an almost perfect match to my RS100P-4A midrange in a 4th order bandpass box.

The RS270 is an underappreciated beast. I prefer the metal versions though, they go significantly lower than the paper, and have cleaner HD.
Don't have the paper versions have upgraded motors? The marketing material for them contains "Low-distortion high-excursion motor system with two short-circuit paths" whereas the original metal-cone versions don't show that.

It's quite good, especially considering price. To compare it with a larger woofer is also pretty meaningless!
