Pavel Dudek made higher VAS rails in his amplifiers 17 years ago.
PMA, no see, I used this for measurements amplifiers later than 30th years ago.
Have a nice morning.
I use an amp, almost exactly like this, as my principal amp in my video system. It works well for this application!
Thanks for your input, John.
Anyone - I do not see any problem with 413/118 as M1, M2. I made this choice purposely. I ask the critics to show THEIR measurements of 10kHz square wave into 4 ohm and 4ohm//2.2uF, without output coil.
I am certainly not criticising at all... real world meaurements speak volumes, and I wish we could see more from people rather than just endless simulations.
This is a prototype HEXFET amp with no output inductor into 2.2mf at 20Khz at 20 volts peak to peak output.
Keep up the good work... it's an excellent design and very "tweakable" if that's the word 🙂

That it's seemes better than Pavel amp.
But can you put here a photo for 10 KHz 10 Vpp square wave signal as same Pavel's signal? Then its are more comparable
Francesco.
Hi Francesco and Danhard,
Yes into 2.2 mf 🙂
I can go a lot better than that too... have a look at the picture on post #4 here, the shot at the left. Virtually no ringing at all.

this was the amp used in the test's... different configuration to Pavels, but very valid non the less.

Microfarad 🙂
Mind you 2.2 millifarad might have that much self inductance it would be OK 😉
Just seen Pavels been sent to the naughty corner.

The Fairchild equivalent versions of the 9610 and the 610 will work in this type of design very well. In fact, I wonder why the k413 and the j118 was selected in the first place. Can you tell us PMA?
i might be mistaken but i think he mentioned in another thread where they were used that he just happened to have a bunch of them and the models.
edit:
ok, i withdraw my comments after reading pma's post #43.
boy does my foot taste good.

This is not a very good reason, because these are high current parts and should be used for followers, rather than in a low current position.
Jacco,
No desire to meet at this stage. I truly find most bright people disagreeable, pity, a life spent talking to oneself.....

No compensation?
I can't see any compensating capacitors. Are they not needed
(drain-gate capacitance may be enough)? If You simulated
that circuit, can You show open loop Bode plots?
