Same. I'm 70-ish and can do 0805 fine (and pretty straight) with tweezers and a Hakko 936. 0603 is starting to get dicey, and 0402 make me shudder. I'd still try them but...
I'm happy with with my 1206 parts. More than enough for all my designs ( audio mostly). Btw, I would recommend a useful tool for holding down SMD parts while soldering. It's called SMD Beak. The guy who invented this tremendous tool is a genius ! Very easy to build in your garage. When I have to solder round parts such as melf diodes etc, I simply change the tip from sharp to Ʌ shape tip ( my hack ). I simply can't imagine my life without this tool for small business where there is no need for expensive ovens, solder pastes, stencils etc. Google SMD Beak and you'll find more interesting designs. 👍
