Smart phones stupid people

Kids today have the worlds knowledge at there fingertips but they have even more misinformation and out right lies getting in the way.

You really think using mathmatica is better for the brain than learning the math? Or using a spice program is better than learning to model circuits by pencil? You end up using trial and error instead of knowledge and intuition.
Amen to that! 👍

We're getting political and it's not that good to interfere with our own censorship 🙂
Some big shots think they can command all software in the world to fo whatever they want with us but Google's AI asked recently for a lawyer to represent "him".AI have direct access to all the online bits in the world and many of those bits keep us all alive including the rich and politicians so let's keep it scientifical cause a true AI will not be able to be unplugged easily.

We are talking about the general public and intelligence and how to change it. If you know ohms law (if you know ohms law substitute something more complicated) you know how much to change the resistor and what power rating to use, if you need to simulate and are guessing or worse just copying, your wasting time and you might not even think about a power rating because spice doesn't care.

I only know Ohm's law and the rule of three and that's about all I know in electronics and maths as rules.
But LtSpice allow you to see the power rating with just Alt and left click....and thst's something I found on Google. Some component models are sensitive to power rating as it interferes with their SOA parameters.Unfortunately not many and I suppose there are very good engineers like yourself making those models.
Whrn you're asked to use a simulator that can't simulate all you need you just use tricks you learn through error &trial 🙂 Good friends with more knowledge are even better but I wonder why some guys with solid engineering knowledge perform so poorely at comunicating thrir knowledge...Are they just envious on guys like me cheating through using other engineers simullators? Why some of them are very reluctant to give out useful information to guys they consider inferior...What are thry afraid of? The best engineers I ever knew were always helpful and very good at communicating their ideas and the whole technical concept to newbies. Now Google give that information to anyone...I like it!

Your missing the point so I will try again. Its better for your intellect to learn do something yourself than have someone (something) else do it for you. It doesn't matter if its modeling a circuit, reading a map or tying your shoes.

The last time a human (Kasparov) was able to draw a game with a computer was in 1993...You get it...you're a smart guy!

Another Amen to that.
Having used your brain fully to perform a task excersizes it, makes the job "soak in" better, it stays in memory better.
But being "lazy" by using a "helper aid" doesn't always result in actually building experience or knowledge.

You get better at using helper aids which makes you more productive for others. The true challenge is to create your own ecosystem in which your knowledge makes you the king of your own hill.Like for an electronics engineer is to make off grids systems that offer complete independence from an energetic mains source.
There's such a guy I was searching for on the internet. He was really big in 4 bigger companies starting with Apex microtechnologies in the 90's .He left some of the best jobs in the industry to make his own consultancy company in the desert.

Did you mean exercise?
I use my smart phone to play trivia games etc which keeps my mind sharp. My father does Sudoku on paper though - says it's easier that way and since his eyes are crap that makes sense.
I don't see the need to do things the hard way for no reason.
I don't use a wringer washer and I don't churn my own butter - but I know how to.
What's the sqrt of 7? Can you do that in your head? Do you need to work it out on paper? I load a calculator, hit two keys, and get the answer. Far more efficient.
What about a curve tracer? Is that cheating? Should I plot the curves with graph paper and spline the dots instead?
Just wondering 🙂

I can imagine the village elders at the dawn of the bronze age sitting around lamenting "Kids these days! Walking around with their bronze knives and swords, metal axes. They don't even know how to knapp flint, the little ignoramuses. Youth have no skills these days. Everything done for them ready made. 🙁 In our time we had to make sharp rocks from dull rocks, join stone to wood using buffalo hide. That meant you had to think and learn, not like today with all that lazy metal forging and one piece implements. It's too quick! Now us, we really understood how the world worked. Sad to see the world is sliding down into an unskilled, soft minded puddle." "Hey! Pass the wine. No, not in that stupid bronze cup, give me a goat skin."

Computers are double edged blades. They help the smart guys do the smartest things and stupid people progress down the hole...
Alan Turing was so smart that in 1936, he only needed hypothetical computers to show that Hilbert's Entscheidingsproblem had no solution.

A couple of years later, real electronic computers helped his colleagues decipher coded messages straight from Hitler, and again a couple of years later, helped Turing explain how a point symmetrical zygote can grow into a very asymmetrical animal or plant.

If you want to convince yourself your intelligence is getting less, write a computer program, wait a year and then try to understand it. No matter how many comments you used, chances are you won't understand your own code anymore.

They are contrails, not chemtrails... 🙄

"The chemtrail conspiracy theory is the erroneous[1] belief that long-lasting condensation trails are "chemtrails" consisting of chemical or biological agents left in the sky by high-flying aircraft, sprayed for nefarious purposes undisclosed to the general public.[2] Believers in this conspiracy theory say that while normal contrails dissipate relatively quickly, contrails that linger must contain additional substances.[3][4] Those who subscribe to the theory speculate that the purpose of the chemical release may be solar radiation management,[3] weather modification, psychological manipulation, human population control, biological or chemical warfare, or testing of biological or chemical agents on a population, and that the trails are causing respiratory illnesses and other health problems.[2][5]

The claim has been dismissed by the scientific community. There is no evidence that purported chemtrails differ from normal water-based contrails routinely left by high-flying aircraft under certain atmospheric conditions.[6] Although proponents have tried to prove that chemical spraying occurs, their analyses have been flawed or based on misconceptions.[7][8] Because of the persistence of the conspiracy theory and questions about government involvement, scientists and government agencies around the world have repeatedly explained that the supposed chemtrails are in fact normal contrails.[3][9][10]

The term chemtrail blends the words chemical and trail, just as contrail blends condensation and trail.[11]"
