I've glued on & sealed the final panel & added the final bits of wadding, so even though I haven't got the right cables for the crossover yet I couldn't help myself from connecting it up fullrange & trying it out. From that quick test it doesn't sound half bad, though I think my current bedroom is too small - I didn't really notice how low it was playing until I crossed to the other side of the room to investigate what was rattling (it was the door in its frame) & got the full brunt of the lowest frequencies. I'm moving out at the end of May & will hopefully end up with a larger room...
The white box is my Sure TK2050 which currently drives my mains, the grey box is a TDA8920BTH in bridge which was driving the amp very nicely, though I've got a rackmount Samson coming for the sub.

Would be interesting what's going on in the right room. Concentrate on the final finish, maybe white glossy paint?
Think I'm going to go for a dull matte black actually. Something low key & which won't take scratches too easily. But I'm discovering by searching around that MDF is a pain to paint because of how porous it is 🙁
It's a good thing I decided to keep the width of the sub small enough to fit underneath my bed, just on the off chance I decided to put it there - I tried it next to my desk which is where I intended to put it but when I sat at my desk my left ear got the full brunt of the bass & my right ear got none, it was incredibly uncomfortable even at low volumes!
Got it slid under the bed now, where I won't even see the ugly MDF, so I'll probably put off painting it until I've built the satellites & finished my gainclone monoblocks.

Water down some pva glue and seal the mdf with that. Much easier to paint after that. How do rate your subs after living with them for a while.
