Controversial for sure !
One more design consideration I overlooked - what happens if the
lifted ground is raised to .65V ?
I looked at what Bonsai did on the NX amp (similar). He must of seen
this issue of where to reference the diamond's ground.
This "issue" does not happen on the spooky , as the NFB reference is high Z
and derived from the lifted ground itself (along with the servo -same reference).
Does not happen on the kypton C with it's DC blocker caps . VSSA/K-C
IS a diamond ... really. It just has the feedback integrated into two
devices.
Edit - you CAN't reference a lowZ current feedback amp from the lifted ground -
The ground would modulate with a high output level !
My almost finished Kypton ND (below) is without blockers , at the mercy
of any ground reference offset. So , like the NX .... both the servo and
input filter HAS to be system referenced (G2).
Otherwise , just .65V on the lifted ground gets you 20V DC at output ! 😱
Glad I simulated my 3 servo amps to finalize this small bug.

Controversial feedback amp NadV1.2 are ok i or some problems with that's amplifier,
like controversial ! hehe

OS,
I sent you a PM, but don't know if you got it.
I would like your permission to use your links etc
for the wiki of the Slewmaster and other builds.
If we can build one place for information of specific
builds and parts, etc, it might help folks.
I was hoping to get a handle on the K-C amp but
I still don't know what P/Ns for the sub assemblies
to build it, them.
There are just very many abiguities trying to get started.
I'd have ordered boards, but what am I to do with 10 of
them when I can't even get started with the basic big
picture of the amp.
In the mean time....
...the beat goes on.

Yes - the "beats go on" .
- Below 1-3
My usual finished deal , with voltages.
Red=V+/ blue=V- / green-0V / yellow= AC paths.
Almost ready for "release".
SyncTronX , go right ahead. 🙂

I wanted to mention something if it is do-able. A lot of the IPS boards have been done with a 7.6 x 3.17cm outline. The board house I use gives a huge discount if the maximum dimension is 10cm. If you can squeeze the board down to 10cm the price is about half. Just something to think about. Looking forward to building this one.

I've already been doing that. It's such a small difference (.075") nobody noticed.I wanted to mention something if it is do-able. A lot of the IPS boards have been done with a 7.6 x 3.17cm outline. This one is 101.6 X 76.2mm - to "shave" 1.6mm would not be an issue.
If it goes to the board house , 2 layer conversion will be done anyways ...
so that 1.6mm can easily go.
On this one ...
- note the "A/B" on the rail jumpers , 12V or full rail for diamond
are options that will tweak the thermals. I think the high voltage for the diamond should work good.
- Unlike the NX , any grade to-126 for the VAS - it's cascoded. The
super-pairs (Q9/10 -13/14) matching is more important.
- Q1-4 are the "core" players. Being servo'ed in this unique way is great
for "villagers" 😀 . Even a mismatch will get you >20ppm !
-All RED LED's .... no blinding VAS here. 😎
Let me stare at it for a while - tweak some traces ("prettify" it.)

Sorry, I just re-read what I wrote. That was a typo, it should have read 7.6 x 10.17cm. I guess you guys must have realized that.
This sounds really interesting. I don't mind etching if gerbers aren't going to be available for a while.

LOL Terry,
And here I thought you were in the weed room or were drinking.
2.4 cm clearance on one side, 6.83 cm clearance on the other side,
Where is the issue for 10 cm.
For me, I usually reply to those gals, NO cm, 1/2 price,
I thought that is what they would tell me...
Hey Texas, 10 cm, half price, no work-ie today?
Haven't thought about 10 cm 1/2 price
but still I wouldn't qualify for discount.
... oh typo. okay.

Hi Sync,
No weed or alcohol for me, EVER. 10cm boards qualify for special "bundle" price It can be 10cm x 10cm, same price. Bundle of 10 boards, 7.6 x 10cm, $16.11 + shipping. Bundle of 10 boards 7.6 x 10.17cm, $33.11 + shipping. Whether or not in makes sense in Texas, it is what it is. Worth keeping in mind when laying out a small board.

Thanks for the info Terry.
Of course I was kidding, and I hope you didn't take offense as my
comment was good natures giving you a hard time, for something
you already commented about. Thank you for clarifying it for me.
That does make it pretty reasonable...
I guess it is true, size matters!
cheers,

No offense taken. I just thought folks should know. It is better to make it a little wider if necessary if it means you can keep it down to 10cm in length.
Heading to sunrise service. Happy Easter everyone!

hello Terry 🙂
question, so it has to be 10cm or even a little bit less ? so is 100mm or a hair less ? 🙂 "mas pequeño" = "a little bit smaller"
Regards
Juan
Conclusion IC are for low power, they burnt up,component dont handle current for poweramp.
the only way use discreate components resistors and so on,,hehe and ic opamp for servo only.

Hi Juan,
Yes, they give a special deal as long as it is 100mm x 100mm or less. Go to the website and enter the dimensions into the calculator and you will see what I mean. If you go 1mm larger in either direction it will jump to double the price. I just wanted to mention it for those of you who do layout design. A lot of guys like to extend the board under/over the outputs and this might cost them more if they can make the board 10cm x 10cm if they don't.
Blessings, Terry
IC Op amp to much gain and heavy feedback,Otala,m talk about low gain and feedback not to heavy. Ic transistor perhaps as input ,but better smd as inputs and current reg and drive,
Another use of copperplate wirh teflon boards, they are thinner and nice even, more expensive sure.
Im wait for 3D writer for boards and drilling after hehe

Hehe, Futterman use of heavy feedback up 60db but they were tube amplifier, another story!
output transformerless only a condensator as output, but don't so good for low impedance speakers.

Here's a little hint for laying out boards to hand etch. Make every hole in the layout .025". This goes for pads, mount holes, whatever hole needs to be drilled. It isn't important to etch the hole to size because it is being drilled anyway.
The .025" hole will act like a center punch mark so drilling is super fast and comes out perfectly aligned. .025" holes etch quickly in 1/2 and 1 oz copper. Any smaller and it really slows down.
