If I had to , I could. Driving at an average of 100mph for 5 years has it's advantages. I can see a cell toting soccer mom a mile away and automatically
pre- compensate for any unforeseen random stupidities. 😀

My morning rush. Drive this at 100mph.
I wish I did many such wholesome things in my 18-25 YO period , my life
and outlook might of been more restrained. Luckily , I can both sense
and instruct my son when he might contemplate something stupid.
Maybe all things happen with a mysteriously planned purpose ?

I guess swimming across the top of Vernal Falls in Yosemite would count as one of those crazy things we do as young and foolish. Still here to talk about that. And I have plenty of car experiences but not to many times being chased, just a couple. Got away when I tried but usually just took the ticket rather than get chased by a helicopter or who knows. Got a ticket for going 75 when it was a 55 limit here in Cali, though I was really doing 150 on highway 99 going to Yosemite. Cop liked my driving style as I slowed around traffic and just nicely went around, picked it back up once past and he said he just couldn't catch me. After about 10 miles of chasing me, I had no idea he was trying to catch me I had slowed down by myself when he caught up. I said where is everyone else, he said I didn't call anyone, was going to let me go and someone else could deal with it but I slowed on my own, I'd had enough of running that fast on the highway. Car was a 1969 Z'28 which was extremely modified, about 4" off the road and for the time massive tires. 10" wheels in front and 13" in back and this was in about 1975. I can honestly say I have been on every freeway and every freeway intersection at over 100mph when I was younger. today you would have to try this at about 3am to even think about not being stuck in traffic in L.A. I still live right off Mulholland Drive on top of the Hollywood Hills and still like to toss the car around corners, just not like when I was younger and would hit close to 100 in a 35 zone. Oh to be young and stupid! Last time I truly drove fairly fast was going to Colorado from Cali and was running about 120 through parts of Utah, flat and straight as far as you could see, my wife and daughter were in the car with me and were perfectly comfortable with me driving at speed, if it was legal I could drive like that all day. Some German fellows drove me on the Autobahn in 1985 and wondered if I was okay at speed, I said no problem and they proceeded to race down the highway, I took a nap!
The company I work for started out with a fleet of 120MPH tractors an 48' trailers. They got big because they could guaranty delivery from here in Kitchener to LA in 36 hours. It's 5000 km one way.
heck with 120 , 110 will explode a bone ... send the pieces shooting through
flesh. 110 will make you curse out the cop who who won't let the EMS do
their job just to get a stupid breathalyzer while you bleed.
I suppose if you hit the trailer going in the opposite direction , the latter
would not happen😱😱😀.
Are we talking , km or m/ph ?

From time to time my path takes me to one of the Slewmaster IPSs... 🙂
I think this wide spectrum of choices and experiences has a huge amount of knowledge behind
and it would be great to reach it in a summarized way either to directly build some of them
or maybe just to use the experiences for other designs.
Is there a clear image at all around these variations or they exist still opened?
The first post in this thread is almost a good platform to this but (for me) it's a bit gappy now.
It'd be great to have at least 4-5 bullet points about each topology like:
Is it possible to create a similar summary maybe?
Can I help in that somehow?

Great diversion from the last posts - could be a long one 😎 ...
Your list should begin with history ...
Do you think we are the first to produce these ?? Nope !
Your CFA - "DVSSA" ?
JLH , NAD , accuphase , even many headphone buffers use this topology
and/or current feedback.
All I did was research the past and refined it for the 21'st century.
Your last offer could be a trade , I could supply ALL the info - most
is in my head 😱 ..... If you could condense it into a sectioned "mini
book" for each.
Did you know the "symasym" is 42 years old (1972 pioneer-below) !!
It came again as the HK680 20 years later. 😱
The Japanese (and others) designed 100's of these basic stages (in the 70-80's)
- I've only hit on the major types so far.

Yeah, I know they are old ideas but still good working... 🙂
Mini book: yes definetely, I'd be happy to create this!
I like very much to collect and organize/summarize things... 🙂
Do you have any idea how to start..?!

OS,
A couple of things. One if you were asking me it was MPH.
What I am wondering is were the Japanese really that prolific and created all of these different topologies or were many of these SS ideas things that came from earlier Fire bottle circuit designs. Where were the American design engineers, were they just sitting on their proverbial di**s or what? I am truly wondering about that as you keep referencing so many designs back to Japanese companies.

Start with your amp (symasym - symasui) !
History - condense. I'll go back even further for
ideas .... Otala is one of the originators.

But I meant to create the summary primarily on your latest IPS versions.
I think for a first version of summary just those mentioned bullet points
would be great for an "outsider" to orient in the woods of SlewMaster IPSs.
How could I fetch this info? Just from you?

Some of the latest ones are unique "hybrids".
Only member Vzaichenko and me have used the VAS on the Kyptons
..... there is no history !
This means that while they work , I even have to research why they
behave the way they do.
The first 3 VFA's and the Kypton V have 30-40 years of "prior art" !
(they are fully in my head) .... and in service manuals and research papers.

Did I hear MPH !? Clear over on another thread and suddenly this MPH appears.... so i searched and it is over here:
cars that are built for speed are very stable at speed. But you can never have enough of a good thing.... heavily modified... engines and chassis/suspensions. All in the 200MPH+ club... and they break as well and handle as well also. 1-2-3 Lets Go!
yes that is a massive inter-cooler behind the lower grill on the CTS-V. Mild mannered Bentley uses a W12 - twin turbo retuned for more HP.

ZR1 picture file too big..... but check out these RWHP numbers: gets the job done.

I just like High performance in fast audio, fast women or fast cars.
Now where is that ultra low distortion, very fast SR 200+ Watt PA? That will get the job done, superbly, too.

I'm running the old school Rocket 455 CFA's now !
PS - the "rocket" old's (below 2) - I got up to about 185mph. A law officer (years later) ,
said he did not bother (could not really see me). did 5.5mi+ in <2 minutes.
Freakin' scary ! 2'nd gear ended at 120mph ! (3 speed auto).

It seems , the same as china today ... we allowed the Japanese to dominate
the mid-fi market in the 70/80's.
But they are smarter , they developed better audio semi's , and still do (Sanken).
I'd say Japan developed over half of the good class AB amp topologies !!!
PS - China just copies ...
Edit - we were too busy with digital to bother with audio.

Scary as all H**l with those tires and aero. 🙂
Did I miss your Hi-Po amp specs and measurements?

I had to "aim" it down 10 mi. stretches , I fully "pegged" 180 ,
could of been close to 200 (or over). a wreck then ... you would
be talkin' to a ghost now.
My amp is 3 months old , 100's of KW burnt for loud clear audio.
I KNOW you would measure low PPM on these , they really outclass
any "mid-fi" by a wide margin - SQ wise.
Terry (Still4Given) has the most impressive slewmaster setup -
he is in Cali !!

Then I cant see other way: if you have the time only you guys could create such a comparison.Only member Vzaichenko and me have used the VAS on the Kyptons

Is there any obstacle?
I think something like this for every SlewMaster IPS: (just some dummy content for now just to show the format...):
CFA-X:
- main idea/target: try out the most simple CFA layout
- simulation results: good speed, not so good PSRR
- real life measurements result: 240V/us
- sound: good mid/high, soundstage, a bit weak bass
- final version: v1.2 link: ...
- state: finished (no plans to further developments)
NAD-S:
- main idea/target: advanced CFA with diamond buffer and cascoded VAS and servo
- simulation results: even better slew rate, 25% better PSRR, ...
- real life measurements result: 350V/us, x dB PSRR, ...
- sound: better sound stage, a bit better bass
- final version: v1.2 link: ...
- state: finished (no plans to further developments)
...
etc for all IPS: Wolverine, Spooky, Symasui, Krypton-C/V, EXESEE, Infidel...
It would take just a few minutes for someone who already built them but it would be
a great start for an outsider to choose or start with some of these alternatives.
Can you create a comparison/summary like this please?
And others could add their own experiences as well like Vzaichenko, thimios, etc...
