Slewmaster - CFA vs. VFA "Rumble"

Cortez,
Don't worry he will get a pair and he will be able to modify the amps to his hearts content. I think he will really appreciate what he has created then. If I can limit the input voltage to say 2 or 2 1/2 volts I think you would basically have a bulletproof system.

OS what do you use or like to test bass response or fidelity and power tightness? I like this on you tube as a sampler of thickness and such. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDcaL3eFSr8. Any other suggestions out there?

Youtube , are you kidding. I want 24hz with >100db noise floor FLAC .

I would never bother with youtube garbage .. like "DX" does.

Album is "best of base america" - "base music 305". I Xmax'ed a
friends dayton ultimax 15" with the MT-200 amp using this source.
"Boomer's" test 1kw systems with this crap.....

There's a good Honeybadger video on YouTube.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r7wHMg5Yjg

Krisfr,
Here is a drum track for you.😀

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIVe-rZBcm4

None of those youtubes could do the lowest octave or the highest .

How could you evaluate with those sources ?

The two youtubes could barely reach 1 on the "LU" scale ,
sharp cutoff at 40hz and 12K ?

"bass tech" can reach 10 LU and 25hz - 18Khz - the real deal !
Torrent the "real deal".

JW - That's pretty good. My brother and I ran across a badger
up in the CA mountains. There we were in a 4500lb LB 4WD
Ford Bronco...driving along some old fire trails and came across
a badger...

...He hunkered down and was ready for a fight if we proceeded!

We waited for him, he finished what ever he was doing and went
about his business. So did we.

It still impresses me thinking about it to this day.

OS,
I was just funning with that song, wasn't that a 17 minute drum solo or something like that? I didn't listen to the U-Tube video and never do, just found the link to the song. I don't listen to MP3, just can't do it.

An MP3 at 320K is 1/4 size with 95% SQ. A FLAC is decompress -able to a
bit perfect .CDA (CD track) . The stupid 20 -24 bit encoding can only
enhance a >2 channel system.

I assure you my 320K or flac's would be "music to your ears"

And the DRC checks are helpful too. They help avoid things like lack of clearance, silk screen too thin, silk screen over a pad, etc. I always make sure the layout passes all available checks.

The Kypton-ND looks like an interesting design, likely worth trying out.

Yes I've checked it with the test tool a couple times now but I've been staring at it too long. I've gotten spoiled with Diptrace. I verifies with the schematic automatically so if I don't make a stupid mistake on the schematic, it always works.

I am hooked on "the mind" , I visualize the whole. I'd be "scared" to let
my PC take my precision away from me . 😱 (old school - go back to 1999)

Funny thing - add about X4 , I'd still get it. The PC would still beat me ... 🙄
10 years from now , I'll be killin' terminators ...

I still do my own layouts, autorouters suck at it. But I let the PC verify for me. I get all the hard stuff right but miss the obvious stuff.
