Simplistic NJFET RIAA

Ok, I'll give up... I'll pay 25% commision if someone who finds the gathering of the perfect components fun or amusing. I'll bet it's not only me getting frustrated - whenever I find the right value I have to buy them in thousands. So, could some of you wizards set up an GB for the passives at least exept for the parts in TB's minikit. So, gather 4 kits and yours would be paid for. Of course the receivers pays for shipping and PP fees.

Now - go for it!

PS: This is very much a part of the build thread...

Wrong button... Sorry. Wanted to edit instead of quote myself...

Turbon why don't you just order an assortment of parts to individual quantity from the likes of Hi-Fi Collective, Michael Percy, or Parts Connexion? They got quite a gamut.

I'll look into them during spare time in the weekend. Thanks Salas - but a GB would be a lot smoother. Few I'll guess have the time needed to find sourcing fun - better that someone who finds it fun makes atleast a part of living outta it.

Regards

Well;I'm flummoxed 😕I swapped over the leads from the deck and all was quiet to start with but after one side of vinyl the noise was back. The output leads were changed next and after two LP's nothing but lovely;dynamic;detailed and natural sounding music.Nothing but some hiss at higher volume levels;guess I'm going to have to keep an ear open just in case.
For interest the cartridge loading resistor are Vishay Bulkfoils with a Naked Z foil at R14.The interstage is an MKP1837 with a Solen on the output. These will more than likely be swapped out when I obtain a bigger case as I have a 0.1uf Teflon and an Ampohm oil/wax cap waiting in the wings.

Marra those Naked foil are weak mechanical.

Can you post a picture? Maybe a grounding is weak or the panels of the boxes don't show continuity at all times?

This is true. I lost one by manipulating it a bit once. There is a warning on their spec sheet that I know its to be taken seriously since then.

Reading your last post now has me wondering. The case is on the small size and the lid is not fully pushed home so as to allow a bit better ventilation.I will push it on properly and screw it down.Hopefully the holes I drilled in the base and back will vent it enough.

Do that, watch its behavior and we will see. There are also the electrolytics forming from storage now. If its some FET that got a hit during the mishap and developed an intermittently leaky gate it could be a drag to pinpoint. Better not.
