A new BC550 has been soldered in place and I am now able to adjust both channels supplies. The Simplistic is sat on the workbench/dining room table warming up prior to making final adjustments.
A big thanks for the advices Salas. All being well I will have a listen within the next couple of days;unless I can't wait that long which is a distinct possibility :D

@ Massimo thanks for the info. They are nice cases.

Salas;yes they are folded alluminium bases with vinyl covered steel tops.

I have the following voltages and wondered if TP1/TP2 measurement were close enough or should I fine tune them closer together.

LEFT RIGHT
VDC 42.4 42.5
G/P 33.2 33.3
TP1/2 3.88 3.71

Testing testing.
Got this from Saymlove 25 bucks :)

Tea Bag was matching for the mini-kits else it was ampslab or ebay I think.

I bought mostly through ampslab and another member who had a significant stash.

I just ordered 500 more of them from ampslab, and some 2SK170's too.
Doomsday prepping, in case of another GB :p:p Not having enough stock of these for GB seriously held back delivery times.

Onto more building discussion :)

Erlend, why do the caps have little carpets on them?

No % accuracy spec I see. At least you will know the components match between them. Absolute value remains to unknown spec. Maybe you could calibrate against a known accuracy LCR to discover its trends.

Yes China made @ 25$ is prob. not the best money can bay.
I thought about borrowing a LCR meter calibrated from job but with my long projects its nice to have one at home.
Will take the tester into work and test it up against a calibrated tester
