Great review and pictures. Thanks. I see a Metcal there. Also loads of gorgeous gear...
Sorry for OT, could you tell what tweaks TSSA have suffered? Have you changed the PSU?
It's up next on my workbench, even I feel my speakers like high damping factors.

Regarding the TSSA, PSU was a nothing fancy dual mono CRC. What we did not install was the plastic bypass capacitors. We tried them and did not like the effect. For more questions and possibly more feedback, better post at the TSSA thread.
Hi Salas
Nice report on the new developments !
Thanks for PDF.
Could you post a schematic JPEG or PNG as well.
Cheers.
Simon.
( nice LOW junction-count )

Better use a screen capture utility and clip it off the PDF, I don't want it to float without the build notes and warnings.
1 question Salas...( I'm sure there will be more ! )
Is the circuit schematic, as published...
...suitable for direct connection of Denon DL-110 / 160 output levels.
Cheers.
Si.

No. 2SK369 and TP2 margin are not suitable nor convertible for MM for that schematic. It will overload.
Salas. Am i correct in assuming that c3 is a coupling cap and can vary slightly from the 47nF listed in folded MC version.
C3 is a coupling cap but affects bass response and overall riaa precision, so you better try to match it also.
I ask becaus eit appears you used an Obbligato Gold there and i habe not foun done in the spec'd 47nF value. I assumed this meant you may have bumped it up to 100nF as in earlier builds.
No, its 47nF as in the schematic. George had 4 or more used ones. Maybe they don't produce it in that value any more?
appreciate the heads up. I am going to try a number of different caps. Ill add those to the list. although FT3 may be higher priority.
You can find obbligatos 0.1 and 0.047u here Obbligato capacitors (Cool supplier)
I used those as coupling caps but really prefer FT3..... Anyway Salas posted that small footprint is better so FT3 might not be the perfect solution here.

Obbli prove better than 5% that their spec is when put on the LCR as many other modern makes do. 2.5-3% average I would say. We just used decent parts that they were around for a test, nothing too fancy. Also the same output capacitors from the other one beyond same general config and PSUs. So not to stray too much. Sometime in the near future vgeorge is to rearrange his other build that has some Z Foils and Teflons in the Riaa filter so to see if he can attain some more icing on the cake so to say.
