Yes I guess VC++2019(32bit|64bit) Redistributable package, right?Just send me a link to wav file you want to convert. If it works here, I will send you a link to the converted file which you can then see if it will play on your system.
IOW, I am suggesting to verify if it seems to be a conversion problem on your particular computer. If we doublecheck that and it turns out the problem is indeed with conversion on your PC then we can dig deeper in that direction. Also, can you confirm that you have the correct MS Redistributable package?
Here is a link to your converted file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2hlths9h5elqz8a/02 - Sometimes_DSD256.dff?dl=0
BTW I am running Win10, 64-bit.

Seems strange it doesn't work there.
Here is the process I use:
Drag wav file or files into PCM-DSD Converter.
Set options to DSD256, and FIR filter
Click the 'Run All' button.
Wait a few or several minutes for the conversion process to complete.
Find output file in directory created by PCM-DSD Converter within its own application directory.
For example, I copied your wav file in this case to the PCM-DSD Converter folder. Then I opened PCM-DSD converter and dragged your file into the converter window using the mouse, and so on. Simple DSD converter created a new directory where the output file is located, as can be seen from the screenshots below:

Only difference I used output file directory in place pcm-dsd directory. I will try as your way.
It creates a sub-folder in the PCM-DSD folder.Wich folder goes the converted file if you didn't select output directory, to pcm-dsd folder?
What about this?Whatch what happens if I try your way in the attached file.
Maybe there is a problem with user rights? Are you an admin on the computer? Do you have some particular antivirus installed?
