No i don't think so.
He probably had a bad day and he is probably someone who need to do things to not be bored (even if they are useless).

And as English is not our native language it may be an issue in translation. :D

I confess to like theorical things or can give the image to display my knowledge. That is why i was hired as a teacher...

All the questions and answers on this forum will be seen by many people who want to learn over the years.

And in audio we always have to deal with compromises.
Let me rephrase the actual question.

Let's assume the following situation.

1. Assume the speakers have front ports. (And don't want to close ports and reduce bass)
2. Placement is on front wall. And at left and right corners.
3. Moving speakers away from walls, absolutely not possible.

In this compromising placement conditions what steps can be done to the room treatment to make the bass clean and accurate.
