I receive about 47 free hdtv channels in DC metro area on that antena indoors. I am thinking about placing it outdoors.

I did purchase the flat cable connection, which allowed me to take the antena from indoors in the basement outside the house.
Now i receive 68 channels. Some are multiples of the same channel, but most importantly there is significant improvement in signal strength. More channels are crystal clear.
