Let us just examine the original question before going off on a tangent, which I understood and gave him three examples of class AB amps of varying complexity. I did not start off with slew rates, square wave analysis or anything. The problem I find on this thread is that contributors are victims of their own cleverness, instead of listening you engage in telling things that was not asked. What is wrong with you guys, don't you get enough attention at home?
The original question: "The Wolverine looks good. However, I'm new to this forum and see there is such a breadth of information, hence the following question. Can anyone list some DIY amplifier designs that would fit the bill?

- Class AB design
- Capable of delivering 50W into 8 ohms.
- MOSFETs or BJTs, although I do have a slight preference for MOSFETs.
- Exceptional THD performance up to maximum power levels over the audio frequency range.
- I don't care how complicated it is.
Now if you have some rational comment give it, instead of running off trying to define slew rates and crap that is a factor of bandwidth anyway, if you did not realize it. Help the chap rather than confuse him with some ill begot knowledge that you attained from the walls of a crap house. Sorry to those that are genuinely interested, but this thread is helping no-one fast.
Now there is some language I can relate to Nico! Please allow me to confuse the issue even further. Daddy likes to drink. Daddy ain't proud of it, but that's the facts. For the most part I'm a cheap Canadian Whiskey kinda' fella'. Bang for the buck. Sometimes though I crave an ice cold beer. I'm talkin' real beer-not some disgusting swill the likes of Bud Light. (And no, I have no beef with trans folk.) When my meal justifies it I might partake of a nice Chianti. If I happen to over-imbibe(never!) nothing beats a good Mimosa with, at the least, Moet. A stiff Bloody Mary will do in a pinch. Sometimes however the joy juice can leave daddy parched, and at that juncture I prefer water, you know, for the hydrogen and oxygen.Help the chap rather than confuse him with some ill begot knowledge that you attained from the walls of a crap house.
Plenty here...I'm looking for ideas for building my own solid state class A/B amplifier, which should be meet the following specifications:

- Class A/B design
- Capable of delivering 50W rms into 8 ohms.
- I don't care if it is based on MOSFETs or BJTs, although I do have a slight preference for MOSFETs. The main thing is the performance.
- Exceptional THD performance up to maximum power levels over the audio frequency range.
- I don't care how complicated it is since I'm a professional electronics engineer. But I believe things should be no more complicated than they need to be.
