Like a cross between Hendrix, Beck and Clapton! Never heard that, thank youMick Taylor with John Mayall
There's film of Hendrix playing with Mick Taylor and Keith Richards backstage at Madison Square Garden. Jimi plays a normal guitar turned upside down!

multiple multiple solos composed and recorded by Steve Lukather, take 4 bar solo from Rosanna for example.
Yes, that's great and usually overlooked; same with Christoper Cross' fade out solo on Ride Like the WindThe short solo at the end of Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Nice, short and simple.

If someone has missed it - originally Pink Floyd’s Pigs on the wing from the Animals LP was one song including a solo but then in album they decided to cut the solo and separate the song in two parts - one in the beginning and one at the end. Personally I think the solo is great:
The break in the middle of Tangerine off LZ 111. Not technically flashy just beautiful and so fitting for the song.
As alluded to above, the best solos IMHO are the ones that feel like they have organically grown out of the song and thereby enhance it, rather than just being impressive in isolation. So 2 absolute belting tracks with magnificent solos that fall into this category:
Teenage Kicks by the Undertones
Behind The Wall of Sleep by The Smithereens
If these 2 tracks don’t put a huge smile on your face every time you hear them, then there is something wrong with you!

Starting from there and until the time of 4 minutes and 25 seconds the solo in the middle of Lazy piece from Made in Japan (1972) by Deep Purple is absolutely in topic (31 seconds in lenght), but nothing prevents you to listen to it all the way...
Edit: needless to say, the solo is by Richie Blackmore.

The solo (45 seconds) in the middle of the Heartbreaker piece from Led Zeppelin II (1969) by Jimmy Page.
Nope. Nothing at all, not even the harmonica. Everything is louder than everything else....but nothing prevents you to listen to it all the way
"Reeling In The Years" solo was played by Elliot Randall. He still plays it in concerts and it still sounds awesome! See on Youtube."Reeling In The Years" (Steely Dan), guitar lick(s) played by Walter Becker
"Layla" (Derek and the Dominoes), lap steel guitar lick(s) played by Duane Allman
Maybe the shortest guitar solo ever, 3 seconds: the 5 lovely notes intro of the Since I've Been Loving You piece from Led Zeppelin III (1970) by Jimmy Page.
Reminding me of The Köln Concert intro (4 lovely notes) by Keith Jarrett (1975)...

Since I've Been Loving You my second favourite Led Zep track and it has some lovely, understated, guitar work all the way through.
I could do an entire Desert Island Discs just on Led Zep tracks.

Cheeky and you lost money, it doesn't make any list of mine.I would be willing to bet that your first favourite is Stairway to Heaven...
The solo intro in What Do You Want From Me by David Gilmour from The Division Bell (1994) Pink Floyd.
P. S.: Please note that I said: "I would be willing to bet", not: "I bet"... 😗
Edit: I guess you’re teasing me...
What’s your first favorite then? 🤔my second favourite Led Zep track
