Shakti Onlines for Cartridge

I believe you would have similar results if you used ZYX TB/SB mass weights instead of shakti. From your photo the ZYX has no mass weights,so,its weight is 5gr and possibly arm/cartridge resonance is on the high side without them considerin the zyx's low compliance. The shakti acted as a mass weight imo.
I use a zyx/sb on my turntable and surely the sb weight was necessary to have a resonance at around 9-10 hz.

I don’t completely reject your explanation. Your explanation is an hypothesis. EMI reduction is an hypothesis, too. Both don’t have scientific evidences to support. Which one we should believe? I lean towards EMI reduction in the case of shakti.

In my opinion, arm/cartridge resonance theory can be very well applied to different cases. For example, the tightness of cartridge screws has an impact on noise level and sonic characteristics. I also made some carbon fiber washers for cartridge. Please see the photo. These washers also have impacts on arm and cartridge resonance. I can hear reduction of background noise.

Arm/cartridge resonance, I mean the resonant frequency caused by total effective mass of tonearm/cartridge/screws and cartridge compliance. Not any stractural resonances of tonearm or cartridge body etc... that can be reduced by different means.
