The bean counters must be mighty desperate to allow manufacturing to be set up in the US again. This will affect the world market and it will affect geopolitics too. I hope it has a stabilizing effect on markets and a positive effect on foreign relations.
I saw that Samsung are opening up semiconductor manufacturing in the US.. the UK could throw in some clowns with that (is satire politics?).
Taiwan is also earthquake prone. If you get a quake, you may as well throw most of the WIP out - can’t have lithography and I’m planters shaking around when you’re trying to make 10 or 20 nm feature size parts.
