Bravo! You called it the "Winslow Ferry". I guess at some point the carpetbaggers changed it to the "Bainbridge Ferry". What next? The "Bremerton Ferry" to the "Kitsap Ferry"?

And why, oh why, did the morons running the ferry system made the Winslow Ferry walk on only? Oh, updating the car ramp? Couldn't they have built the new one alongside the old one? Are they going to put extra ferries on the Bremerton Run? Kingston Ferry -getting an extra ferry. That's gonna be an interesting ride... it's quite a drive to Edmonds.. might as well just drive the 70 miles around. Welcome to Tacoma

This is gonna be a cluster....you know what.

Trust me, I do NOT miss having to map my life around the Ferry Schedule as I used to. And even then, they had a lot more ferry runs and a lot less people. I can not believe how mismanaged the state of WA has become in the last 15 years.

Two spheres are now in orbit. Assembly on the second sphere look to be successful. Mic stands were the easy choice to hold these in the air for the time being. Time to tune the crossover to the 12" woofer and equalize each directivity mode.

Nice!
Are you bringing those to Burning Amp Fest too?
I have never made it out to Burning Amp. I will have to look into that.

tonyEE: "Hey... what's that open baffle speaker in the picture?"

Those are my four way wide baffle, wide dispersion speakers I assembled in 2018. They are actually minimum volume sealed enclosures on a wide baffle. I didn't have room to haul those to the meeting today. They have custom transconductance amplifiers, four way digital crossovers and play with 0.1% distortion at typical listening levels. They have 90 degree dispersion up to 15 kHz. I was riffing on the Grimm Audio monitors but with wider dispersion. So 19 mm seas tweeter, six 2" Aurasound midrange, 8" Seas magnesium upper woofer and 12" Scan speak woofer.

Great turnout today. Fun to talk to so many people. I regret I didn't take more photos. I didn't get everything. The four hours just fly by.

Dave's 3 ways look like Harbeth M40s.

Your spheres look like... mushrooms. ;-)

Amazing you guys in the Puget Sound scheduling a weekend indoors in September... usually sunny. Giving up a sunny weekend!

Bring your speakers to Petaluma... Your four ways... awesome. What is the amp like?

Thanks.

My 3 ways are ~60 liters, made with bubinga ply and cocobolo edges. Woofer: Seas P25REX/DD, Mid: Seas 10-FM, Tweeter: Audax TM020J5.
Box has rear-mounted resistive vent, and mid has separate (internal) enclosure with stuffing. The crossover is full 3-way series, low Fx: 600 Hz, hi Fx: 6 kHz. Impedance is about 5 ohms above 200 Hz. Acoustic phase alignment is less than 10 deg through most of the crossover regions. Really like the wood grain.

The good thing about it is transporting speakers and gear between indoors and vehicle is easier.
