I hope that the resistor and cap are your only problem....If not email me and I'll send you the schematic.
glad to help..
I've got a question.. do you rember when the amp first started acting up? Was it after letting the amp feedback for a while...that was my experience. I was just curious if this is the normal case with this failure.

I do recall messing around with guitar feedback intentionally - it's been awhile. I probably shut the amp down immediately after overheating the resistor and just didn't realize the motor-boating problem it created until several weeks later. If you don't mind, could you email the schematic to eweege@yahoo.com? Thx.
My AVT 20 stopped working when I turn it on all it does is hum loudly, I can't play anything through it or control the sound, it just hums, any suggestions would be appreciated also could I please get a copy of the schematic. Thanks
I am currently under moderation, so I can't email anyone directly so could someone send me a copy of the schematics for the AVT 20 please, I would appreciate it . Thanks
Hello, I need this schematics for AVT 20 too. Actually I just need to know what part number is used for rever pot because mine is not working and I need to chnage it
I got it! Thanks to oleg solo. Now I know that reverb pot is B5K, however I need to know a part number to order it. I can not find it anywhere on the net. Can anyboody help me? Where to get Marshall pots???

Can you just use a pot of the same type that will fit? Why does it need to be from Marshall?
Anyone still have this schematic to send me? I've had the same problem: burnt out R53 and C71. I want to switch them out but it would be helpful to have the diagram.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Another question: the C71 is a 0.22 uF capacitor. I think its a polyester or polystyrene film.
Anyone know where I can order this component?
Would it be a problem to put in a similarly rated capacitor of a different type (electrolytic or ceramic)?

Well I geuss I'll be the next to chime in. I to would like a copy of the schematic to the Marshall avt20. At least the problem this unit is having differs from the cap/resistor. The trouble is it shuts down after about 10 mins of hard playing. So off I go to track and hunt land.
Many Thanks in Advance,

Thanks greatly to DoctorJ. Got E-Mail, we're good to go. Thought I got out of this 25 yrs ago(fix one Peavey Classic and 5 tube amps later,Oh well). Guy says it shuts down when it warms-up. Now where is my lighter fluid(hummmm)
Thanks,
Jack
