I connected the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen to the PC and it immediately recognized it, I open REW and it also recognizes the card, I connect the microphone to Input 1, I test the levels - but
it always remains rather low and strangely on the display around the gain the green LED that surrounds it never appears, then if you raise the volume it goes directly to red. also during calibration, the error always appears that says - this measurement is not valid for the calibration file.
defective / faulty card?

Card is good.
Three colors around gain knobs, amber-too low, green-just right, red-within 3dB of 0dB. Measurements best taken just below red.
Calibration file may be in the wrong place, look under preferences.

ciao Tom,
already tried with the 48V activated.
to get a decent input level I have to raise almost all the gain. but the error remains that tells me - this calibration does not allow the file to be created.
think that with the internal sound card and without even a microphone connected, the card calibration is performed without problems.

let me explain,
around the gain the usual coloration does not appear, it never comes out - neither amber nor green. the coloration goes directly to red.
I installed its software, I reset the card to default and now the colors on the Gai are all there. I redid the calibration and the levels are now good, but there is always something that prevents the creation of the calibration file at the end of the test.

What "calibration" are you trying to do? SPL level? What's "Gai"?
I own one of these - never had any problem and only calibrated absolute level by use of the "SPL meter" function against a hand held pressure level meter.
"Eccessive variation in a measurement !" - What measurement did you try to do - a sweep?
What kind mic are you using?

Have you tried plugging in a set of headphones into the 2i2 and then listening to what the mic is generating. I forget which symbol you want to monitor the input now on the "direct in" button. In one mode I think you'll hear the mic directly in the other the headphones are set to produce the USB input from the PC. And one final super dumb Q, is the mic a XLR connector?

Gai is a typo - it's Gain / pot that adjusts the Input level of the microphone. I'm not doing any real measurement at the moment, I'm just trying to calibrate the Scarlett and it won't calibrate.

I haven't tried with headphones. The microphone I'm using to calibrate the Scarlett is an AudioTecnica AT 818 II and it's XLR to the microphone and 1/4 Jack to the Scarlett Input 1
The AT818 is a dynamic mic and you should not use the phantom power - switch that off. I think you will have problem with that mic... its not what we all use...

Skip the calibration... you can do good without that to begin with. Better do an acoustic measurement and see if that looks ok.
The manual : If the interface offers phantom power on its inputs make sure the phantom power is turned off to avoid a risk of damaging the output."
Watch out for feedback when using earphones - it can ruin your ears - skip that.
Get a proper measuring mic. I suggest the one REW recommends.
