Good evening everyone. I just received my dad's old speakers back from my brother. A pair of Sansui PS-100 3 ways. I am looking for driver replacements?
Tweeters ( replaced a few years a go with a $10.00 piezo tweeter. Sound nice clear and crisp. 4,500khz to 20,000khz
Midranges SP-100 ( sealed 5 inch drivers ). 1,500 to 4,500khz
Woofeer's Sp-100 ( 10 inch woofers). 1,500 hz to 45hz
Crossovers are a 12 DB cross over 8 ohms.
I am looking for near original parts of all paper drivers? Where can I go to get close to original drivers or should I have my driver's redone? Please help? Jeff

In audio terms, those are ancient history, good luck with finding replacements. If the Voice coils & suspensions are OK, you may be able to get them re-coned, but I don't know at what cost... technology has moved on a lot since the 60s....you may get better bang for buck elsewhere. Sometimes you just gotta know when to fold 'em... If it was me & the drivers were knackered, I'd re-use the cabs though, they look damn good with that fancy grill
Now you've got me thinking about it,.. that cab is ~ 65L internal volume???,
perhaps this is a possibility: keep the piezos, replace the 5" with Peerless 830656, & the 10" with Peerless 830688. Then all that would be required would be to come up with a suitable crossover....

They are old and I would loved them all re-coned. Ya finding the parts for the drives. I redid all the caps and resistor's in the crossovers a few years back. All daytom audio and lynk resistors. It made a huge difference in the sound night and day. Then I replaced the binding post on both speakers and soldered the wire to them from crossovers. I then replaced the pink stuffing with acoustic stuffing you get in the bag from parts express. I then made sure all the Drew's were right on all drivers. I also replaced the tweeters. I did went from older radio shack speaker wire ( that came in bulk that had a brown outer pvc skin). I replaced it with high definition rca 14 gauge speaker wire. Everything I did has brought them more refined and more focused and the bass got tighter and the midrange and hugs sound very clear. No more crackling or hissing problems. I also cleaned and lubed the 3way switching knob on the back and it works flawlessly. No crackling or pops when I turn it fine each setting. ISo I didn't replace the coils in the crossovers. I was already into the $300.00 range with redoing what I did to both speakers. I would like to reduce the outside of the cabinets one day? Also the fuse button on the back broke and never workedcas long as I can remember? I do have a sansui 250 stero receiver that needs to be rebuilt but, thats for another later time and build? Maybe this fall? 2020. Also when I was younger I tried to blow these speakers with bass music from the early.90's. Lol D.J..magic Mike and bass 305.and techmaster. P.e.b. So.am.older.now and I am just enjoying music the.way.it was meant to be enjoyed. Sorry so long of a story but, I wanted to give a update and back round to these speaker my dad got in Germany durind he put together with the receiver.. I grow up with them so they mean a lot to me. Well I will see what I can find out to have my driver's done? Just concerned that the magnets might be too weak after all these years? Cheese Jeff

Have Dave. The numbers on the midrange and woofers are SP-100 and W-100. The midrange is 5 inch sealed and the 10 inch woofers are open basket. I uploaded the two pictures I have. They are both
8 ohms. I just found out sansui used a Coral tweeters I'm thier ps series. I can't found anything but the frequency crossed over on the tweeter and the ohms and wattage. I am looking for the DB so if I can't find a pair I can match it up closest to the original tweeters. Sorry for the side line post about the tweeters Dave. I hope the pictures help? Cheers. Jeff

Jeff, i’ll have to double check but i think i have a set of W-100 & W-150 which i kept because they are quite nice woofers (but almost everything has to go now) . I have a few pair of the small horn tweeters (the ones with the inductor coil wrapped around the base of the horn — what was that what was in there before the piezo (you have to be very careful using those.
From this picture, i do have the right tweeter. Nice, but only good for 5k+

I replaced the tweeter with the help of parts express tech. support. Am being honest my tweeters were not working. I think they were blown. The tweeters were the same wattage and ohms and DB of the original tweeter but, magnet is a tad but smaller. Yes you have to be careful I agree. They are the same ones in the picture you have posted Dave. I read they used coral tweeters ( made for them ) I have no idea if it's true? Also I never kept the tweeters. I will have to see if I can remember what brand it was from parts express? I know it's a 2 inch tweeter. Thanks Dave for all.your help..Ya just let me know what you have? Thanks Jeff
A piezo is likely not near as good as the original. Did you change the XO as well. Unless done really well they will sound like crap.
The tweeters i have (2 pair i think) are in the give away pile.

If your giving them away? How much is shipping to zip code 48188? Thanks Jeff
Hi Dave I didn't change the xo but, put new caps on them. To them a few years ago. Maybe I can get the specs from the company after I figure out what piezo tweeter bought from parts express? Jeff
I haven’t been downstairs to look for the woofers. But i dig dig out a map of the XO. Given that one of the inductors is wrapped around the tweeter, you did inadvertently change the XO.
And a piezo needs care & attention, a standard XO does not work with them.

I finally got a chance to look. The woofers i have are 4 x W50.
Here is a pic of the tweeter:
I realized when i looked at them that the entire XO is mounted on the tweeter, so it could well be that your piezo is XO-less. They can be used like that, but they get really rough and ugly sounding.
I’d be happy to send this pair your way for cost of shipping.
Small packet post is cheap but, surface particularily (but slow at teh best times).
If you are interested i can weigh the tweeters & figure out what that would be.

Also seeing how the inductors are wound together they wil interact. Intentionally i expect. Not sure what that would do.
