Rubber surrounds (again)

What you are talking about is definitely not grease, it is a kind of resin which is somewhat like the "gum" in the chewing gum, a sticky substance that has good damping properties, and (theoretically) should not dry out or harden.
A good substitute for that is a type of PVA used in paper industry, it remains sticky for years, very much like the stuff on those old drivers. I have no idea where you can get it, I got mine from a friend long time ago, who worked for a paper-bag making workshop. It is somewhat like the glue they use in the sticky mouse traps....

Yoohoo - that's a better sound!

Ancient thread, perennial topic! Yes - Copydex rubber-type fabric glue is great for repairing or coating a paper corrugated surround. Never seems to set hard (unlike the terrible UHU fabric glue!). While at it, I use two coats of French polish on the paper cone and add a ring of honk-damping felt dots. A stiff old suspension can be stretched a bit, to and fro, with great care, to bring down that particular source of resonance. Have done these things to speakers from five inch to twelve. Ellipticals often sound best, in my opinion.

Hi.I put my Vifa P17WJ00 woofers in warehouse but i found them like this in the picture attached 🙁 One of them has 1 dent and other has 3. I do not know how it happened. Maybe mouse ate the rubber. Please check.
How can i fix them? I do not want to change the rubber surrounds right now.
