It doesn't look like the PNP drivers are working. Defective transistors, wrong transistors, bad connection to ground...

Are you sure that the FET gates aren't leaky to the other terminals (out of the circuit)?

It's hard to see how the power supply isn't drawing a huge amount of current with drive like that.

After replacing the drivers and fets again this is what I get on both banks .

Scope settings are 10us 5volts/div

Do these look right or do I still have a problem ?

I tested the amp for 3 hours on the bench after repair again . It worked perfectly fine .

I give the amp back to the guy and he says the power supply blew again for the 3rd time .

Wondering if there could still be a problem but it worked fine for me or could it be an install issue since this will be the 3rd time it blew up on him .

First time it blew is when he bought it from someone else that said it was working perfect for them also but as soon as he Hooked it up supposedly it blew

How hard did you run it when testing? This is a large amp and needs a lot of current to be tested properly.

Rockford doesn't have any strange problems that make it sensitive to installation problems. If he has a problem that's causing the amp to fail, it could be a fault with one of the protection circuits.

Have you checked the speakers and wiring for shorts with a multimeter?

This amp may be one that's simply too much trouble. Refund his money and let it be someone else's headache.

Ok I just talked to him again about the amp the amp works .

The problem he said is the output side of the heatsink gets hot at idle after about 10 mins . Where the original problem was with that output getting hot .

He said you can still touch the heatsink but it gets hot after about 10 mins at idle .

Is this normal for these amps or does it still have an issue
