Let the amp go into protect mode and post the voltage on all of the LM339s in the power supply. Copy and past the following into your post. Place the black meter probe on the amplifier's ground terminal. Place the red meter probe on the point where you need to measure the voltage.

is it at all possible the u1620r and u1620 are installed backwards. i checked the schematics and installed them per board designation. but i want to rull that out.

also what about the messed up trade i has to fix @ one of the smd 20r0 resistors? i did my best soldering in these resistors, but it doesnt look oem by any means.

Use your meter to confirm that you have a good connection between components on the repaired trace.

It's unlikely that you have the rectifiers installed reversed. If you did, it's likely that the amp would draw excessive current at all times. If you're still unsure, post the DC voltage on one 28N15 and one 36P15 (preferably from the repaired channel).

alright first off i am sure the light is NOT supposed to flash. idid not know what order to test in as i dont know the leg numbering. i started @ the left most leg and went right(started in bottom legs), then went to upper legs from left most leg to right.
ic voltage readings(voltages posted with F at end meant they went to OL with the blink of the light.)
1-.2 F
2-4.81 F
3-18
4-.15
5-2.0
6-.47 F

8-6.0F
9-6.0
10-.08

14-3
Now for the second lm339 and F at end of reading means going to OL with protect light

2-17.4
3-8.7
4-.7
5-2.3
6-4.9

10-.024
11-1.5
12-1.05
13-5.0F
14-.5

Mosfets on output side got warm during the 10 minutes amp was on, but not hot by anymeans, none of the power side fets or other components got warm. during testing thermal light blinked on a few times.

IF pinout is based on this pick 1-7 are right, 8-14 are backwards meaning 8 is 14 in my post, and 14 is 8 in my post. thanks

voltage across b+ and ground is 12.8volts, without car running. all tests were done in amp in protect mode. But it seems the amp is actually going in and out of protect mode over and over. Every time that light(protect) lights up, the voltages that do fluctuate to no reading or a lower reading, do so when light lights up.

How sure are you that the rest of the voltages are correct? The difference between 8.7 and 18.8 is significant. I know that you may have simply missed the 1 but I don't want to spend an hour chasing a problem that doesn't exist.

Earlier, was the amp staying in protect mode after it went into protect mode? Or did it always remain in protect mode for only a second (after remaining on for 30 seconds to 2 minutes)?

it flashed in and out of protect mode the whole time.

originally after i fixed the amp, it wouldn't flash protect mode at all, just make the burp of distortion, and that was it. the problem has gotten worse and worse.

i will recheck all voltages. and repost.

heres the voltages, where F after voltage means Flashing to OL from voltage posted.

1-.024F
2-4.6
3-18.5
4-.10
5-2.0
6-4.9
7-4.93F

second ic
1-4.85F
2-17.4
3-18.7
4-.43
5-2.3
6-4.3

i guess somehow some voltages were posted wrong before.
