A very sad note this year ends on...
The ETF, no - the entire DIY community lost one of its most innovative and generous contributors.
My condolences to his family and friends, near and far.

He gave so much more than he took...
I'm glad to have met Jean-Michel several times at the ETF. He was a source of inspiration, not only in his attributions but also in his approach. He sure does leave a footprint in the DIY community and will be missed by many.

All horn and quasi-optimal crossovers addicts will be very sad to know that Jean-Michel Le Cleac'h won't post anymore :

Wow i am sorry to hear that, i never met him in person but have read so many of his posts, felt like i sort of knew him with horns as a common interest.

Best Regards

I am so sorry to hear that. He will be missed here. My condolences to all his family and friends 🙁
I just read at Facebook , The Horn loudspeaker forum, that Jean Michel passed away. That took me with surprise. I will remember him as one of the most knowledgeable experts in horn theory, a true authority, which deserved when he was alive, and even more now, my respect and admiration. He was always kind, a true gentlemen, very polite and helpful. It was always a pleasure to read his posts and communicate with him. He will leave a hole in the DIY speaker builder community, which hardly will be replaced by someone else. My condolence goes to his family, and close friends.

Such very sad news indeed, and a great loss to all in the audio community. My memories of him go all the way back to the "Joe-net" days in the 1990s. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 2004 ETF in Langenargen where he was a featured presenter. He has always been helpful and kind -- a true gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Bummer, huge loss - will definitely miss him.
The first time I heard of Jean-Michel was on Arduman's site back in '99, so for a little time machine:

This is a sad blow to all of us, and much more to his close friends and family.
He was a very intelligent man, and always generous with his knowledge.
He was also a true gentleman both in his forum postings, and in real life.

I was always impressed with how he could motivate every statement in a scientific language that not all of us could understand, but still appreciate and learn from. He has helped me a lot in the daunting process of building a horn speaker.
I feel sad for the people close to him, and I wonder what will happen to the knowledge he was trying to communicate to us on this forum.

What a loss for his actual Family and his second Family - the DIY community... he was the single most important contributor to recent horn Development in my opinion. Also, he had this rare and genuine interest in SHARING, unfortunately not so very common today. His person, his ideas and his comments will be missed.
