RIP Burt Bacharach

I remember travelling with my family back in 1968 when "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" came out - we must have heard that track on our car radio every 15 minutes, or at least it seemed that way.
Isn't exactly this the algorithm how the music industry works? Give it massive airplay and tell the big thick mass market through as much media as possible what they need to hear, and you will sell, sell, sell.

Best regards!

We have no idea how good Burt Bacharach and Hal David were:

But certainly a successful duo:

Wives and Lovers certainly worked for me. My own octave.

RIP, Burt,

I ended up not buying every song I liked that got a lot of airplay.
Especially the ones which got airplay before the official release because by the time I could buy it I was already sick of it.

The only Bacharach I have are by Dion Warwick and himself.
Some Tom Jones also. I still listen to Warwick, his premeire collaborator. I love that kink in her voice.
