It has saved a really large amount of space because the circuit is a 4th order. 3 way crossover - where many resistances are achieved by using multiple resistors of different values.
But I actually do need a new brush for the dog . . . .🤔

Hi Gerry you are probably also retired now and into your hobby like never before. I hope you don't have to go on shopping trips with the old lady, that should be dedicated listening and tweaking time.

Spot on there Nico, but electronics in general, not just audio, is a completely new science to me - which is why I ask so many questions - but I find audio in particular thoroughly fascinating. Then add to the fact that I have always been quite a fan of music.

I use vertical resistors a lot to save PCB space, though I lay them down if I have sufficient board area. Laid-down resistors are great for bridging traces that would otherwise be in the way.
