Remove the amp section from AV receiver??

I have a NAD T775 AV receiver that has long been plagued by issues. Despite a dead display-screen and random sound drop-outs while watching video, I really enjoyed this AVR. It just sounded really good to my ears. Unfortunately, the random sound drop-out is now a permanent drop-out so I'm debating on what to do.

I could just send the unit to an authorized repair shop and see what the diagnosis is. Even if I decide to have it fixed (which I doubt will be cheap), I won't use it in my main system because it doesn't support 4k HDR.

But rather than just letting a big black box collect dust, maybe I can gut the T775 for parts and create a DIY 7-channel amp with the components. Albeit a wild guess, I think the amp section of the T775 is probably fine and the problems most likely lie in the related electronics (video, dsp, etc). Just a hunch.

I'm not committed to doing this yet, just trying to flesh out the idea. Would appreciate any comments/advice/feedback.

Its most likely possible. Many recievers I've seen have discrete amp sections (I guess so they can reuse the channel design when they need a bunch more channels for the next 12.4 standard or whatever) See if you can find a service manual, it will provide some clues, but so will lifting the skirts to see what lurks underneath [emoji6]

I have a copy of the service manual. Will post in the morning.

The pdf file for the service manual is too large to post whole. Here it is in 8 page sections.

Thanks again for any insight.
