Are you going to make your base from Tancast foam like the P8/P10?I was looking for the dimensions of the overall shape of the P8 (P10) base
I am always sceptical of turntables without provision for a dust-cover. Unless you have a cleanroom its surely advantageous to keep dust off... Yes you could use it in a clean-room, but those have awful acoustics and loud fans!
Dustcovers tend to be expensive these days. I was quoted $380 to get replacement for Goldmund Studio.
My custom made dustcover Jim ;^)
Platter is the only part that really need dust protection.

Sorry for hogging the thread, but I see from other posts you have tried a few different motors for your turntable projects. What is your preferred solution/motor? Do you have a direct link?I built my own table from a Rega 303 arm, Rega 6 glass platter. TangoSpinner subplatter. Motor is a 3-phase BLDC 12V NEMA23 style motor from Anaheim Automation. And motor power supply is a 3-phase sine wave generator base on a ST Micro microcontroller and motor driver daughterboard. I use a Anaheim Automation motor right now, mounted under the platter and driving the subplatter via a flat belt.
Either of these are good:
8 pole, 4mm shaft

4 pole, 1/4in shaft

Yes. Zero noise and undetectable vibration (as far as I can tell), and very stable RPM in open loop. I am working on using the Hall Sensors or an external encoder to get better results in closed loop.Using SimpleFOC? Stable rpm and low noise?
