soren please please please please please release a firmware for DSD over PCM / Native DSD support. How did u support DSD over the 1101?
Thx, good to know 🙂You will not getting pop sound due to sperate the power supply for each stage
I also want to know if there is any way to "disable" this mute circuit
I disabled mine. I had to as I had vref startup issues.

May I know how do you do to disable the mute feature? by giving power to PWR_A+ and PWR_A-?

What version is your dam?
rev2 012
Ok sorry I have rev 1 so I can't advise you on rev 2. But if you can identify the MCU pcb trace that controls mute you can maybe remove the series resistor and add a pullup to Power A+ instead. That is essentially what I did.

any pics of the mod for rev 1
You mean pretty please? 🙂
As Sören has stated - there will be no native DSD. The only thing he seem to "promise" is that the thing can receive DSD DOP. The extracted DSD stream will immediatly be turned into PCM.... and there you go...
I.e nothing to wear your keyboard out for. If you have some DSD recording you are longing for You might as well start to convert them off line and play them as PCM tracks now.

you mean to say convert using external software?
No clue. I can't rip my SACDs so I have not ventured into the problem. Most of them have pcm tracks anyways. I miss my Philips SACD1000 but it died the control chip death. Since then I pretty much given up on the format. It's not a problem as I don't see SACD as the holy grail nowadays.

I use VortexBox, but there is also AudioPhile Linux.which software is ideal?
Both work fine in combination with Squeezebox Server, or Logitech Media Server.
Then you must select that the Plugin for the DSD Player is activated, and you can see that in this menu.
In combination with the Amanero it set DSD to PCM to 352.8kHz.

The most simple is Foobar with the SACD plugin.
It can convert realtime DSD to PCM and vice versa.
Vortexbox and the other the same, " on the fly" no conversion after or before.
The Dac only have to do the PCM, and I use a MiniITX board with no rotating or moving parts, only the temperature is created as a result of the processor, a Atom330. 😀
And I am sitting on the couch with a tablet, to organize and select which one I like to play. 😎

Daphile is a nice player running Squeezebox Server and Squeezelite (for USB DDC), it has feature to convert DSD to PCM on the fly, it also have other nice features like Ramplay.

Hi. Been using the dam1021 since it came out 🙂
It plays very well. But from time to time it just get silent in a second or two before I get this loud "crack/pop" from the speakers and music starts playing again. Sometimes after half an hour. Sometimes after 15 minutes. Sometimes after several hours. It's just random. The poweoff/on crack/pop mod has been done but it did not get rid of it all.
Running 0.99 firmware.
I don't recall having this issue with the former firmware.
I dont know if it looses the signal or just do a powercycle by itself? Anyone else experience this?
BTW: Running rpi2 direct to dam1021 (i2s). And direct into a poweramp.
