I would have expected some sort of fix for that by now. Its been months, one would think that getting all of the ongoing issues fixable by firmware resolved would spark more interest in your product.. shows dedication to the product as well. I also think Soren should send spzzzzkt a free board or two for all the hard work and dedication hes put into the filters.

If you are carefull the turn on/off pop its not a big deal, but right now seeking in a track, forward o backward in the playlist cause a pop, sometimes it's small other it's huge... I test this with a raspberry pi running volumio and a banana pi pro (with both i2s out and spdif out) running a custom debian image...I would have expected some sort of fix for that by now. I just put the parts together temporarily in aluminum case.
When I set the volume over V+01, I can hear some noisy sound such as crushed and squashed.
If the volume is set to below V+00, I can’t hear any noise.
What do you think about this noise? Is it only my case? 😕

Soren mentioned previously that he is able to both reduce the amount of time taken to relock as well as reducing (removing?) the pops for other inputs other than the DIYINHK adapter. I would be disappointed if that's falling out of the firmware update because it can sometimes be very loud depending on what music data is in the start of the tracks (i.e. if the track starts loud that pop is very loud)
I do wish also that we had a timeline on when the next firmware update is due to be released.
Just a not for those of you using a usb-serial adapter with ftdi chip. Beware if buying cheap "knock off" from ebay, allied express or something. They might be fake and this could cause some problems.

This actually happened to me some time ago with an Ebay-sourced USB to serial adapter (TTL, not RS232). It is relatively easy to fix nowadays.
Maybe I have missed something but one would think since this forum is in a designated commercial area and the point of it is making this device work as best it can for those who are considering buying and more importantly for those who have.
I cannot understand the folks who have no intention of buying the thing and/or who have not heard it going into arcane discussions concerning its design choices.
It should be obvious SOEKRIS is not a professor and has no intention and certainly not the time to go into detailed discussion of how he approaches the design of a DAC.
He has gone into far more detail than most. And one needs to consider he has good reasons to not reveal all.
BUT I think the most amusing of all the complaints is from someone who displays a picture of ancient single ended triodes and fretting over the measurements of the DAC when it is obvious that R2R Dacs are somewhat analogous to the SET in that they both produce a pleasing sound IN SPITE of their measurements.
There is something to audio reproduction beyond static measurements. It is what both devices can do in a dynamic situation (also known as music) that make them interesting to us.

Another alternative is Front Panel Express: Front Panel Design Software and CAD Conversion Service: Home in the US or Schaeffer AG: Home in Europe. They offer free software which makes it pretty simple to design panels/enclosures for CNC cutting through their companies.
